  1. I found one that meets once a month. First Thursday of the month so I'm going to check it out this coming week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm in Fargo and have a tentative date of surgery for March 20. I am super concerned I will fail. I would really like to get involved with a support group in person that I can meet with on a regular bases. If there is any out there please let me know. 3. I'm in Fargo! I'm looking for a support group to go to maybe 2-4 times a month. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thanks everyone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I just had my last appointment with the bariatric team prior to surgery. Waiting on approval from insurance so we have an anticipated surgery date of March 20. My biggest concern is that after surgery I won't loose the weight and that this will be just another failed attempt at loosing weight. Just thinking about this devastates me as I feel this is my last option. Has anyone else felt like this? What are some of your keys for success in the long term? 6. That's the thing... I don't even know her rational. My husband wasn't on board at first but he came with to my consult and realized how much I wanted it and wanted me to be happy. I just don't get it. She was super successful with weight watchers and maybe she thinks there are other ways. Idk Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Below is just a snippet of some of our conversations about my journey. She is very unsupportive and it's hard to ignore. She is my best friend. I share everything with her and it's hard to not share this with her but when I do share she is beyond unsupportive. ☹️ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Depending on co-morbidities my insurance and surgeon require a lot of that as well but luckily I'm still young enough that I don't have any co-morbidities yet. This is why I want to get it done now and not when I'm older and have health problems due to obesity. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Keep us updated! I'm a nurse myself so I'm interested in what went wrong. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Just got a call today to set up my first phone dietician consultation. My insurance requires 5 phone consults 2 weeks apart before you can schedule surgery. Based on that time line I should be good to go around Feb/March. I'm super excited. I downloaded the app to track my food and I've been on the Vitamin regime so that becomes habit. I've been watching all the success stories and I'm super excited to have my own! Just had to share as you all can relate a little more than my loved ones Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I hope I get the dumping from sugar foods. I need the negative reinforcement. Great question by the way! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Thank you for the kind words. So my daily food plan is pretty basic and boring. I have a Protein shake for Breakfast, 3-4oz of whatever protein for lunch and supper, then I do have a snack in the evening, sometimes it's a Protein Bar, or whatever else is leftover. I can honestly say any love for food I had is gone. My tastes really seemed to change after surgery. I'm just really not that interested in food anymore. Maybe that's because I'm not craving carbs like I was before surgery....I was a chipaholic in a bad way. So I can't really say I get any cravings for bad foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I really hope I have the same feelings toward food after my surgery. Such an inspiration!

  14. I originally wanted the sleeve and they said due to my acid reflux the only surgery I could get was the RNY so I asked him to explain why. He did a very good job. My husband also asked how long people are normally out of work for this surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Thanks. We were required to read a book by Barbara Thompson called "Weight Loss Surgery Finding the Thin Person Hiding Inside You!" And in the book she stresses to take advantage of the "window of opportunity". I hope to have many dumping attacks and throwing up (what a wish) so that I have negative reinforcement for the bad for you foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I haven't had surgery yet. Don't have a date yet either. My biggest concern is gaining the weight back. My husband knows many people who lost the weight but over the years gained it back. I don't want this to happen to me and I'm determined not to let it but I was wondering if any of you out there have gained it back and what would you say was the biggest reason you gained again? 17. I'm from Moorhead. No surgery scheduled yet but in the process. Any advice on what to do the months leading up would be nice Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
