  1. :thumbs_up:I had my surgery on August 11th and my doctor had me on only clear liguids for the 10 days before surgery. The surgery went well but I had a problem with excessive swelling of the stomach. I was finally released on the 18th (7 days for a 2 night stay!) I had to saty on clear liquids for the next 2 weeks. Once the swelling went away, everything else progressed normally. To date I have lost about 75 pounds.
  2. :cursing:Well, my surgery was finally done on 8/11/08. I was on a clear liquid diet from the Friday before (8/8/08). I was told that I would only be in the hospital overnight. I had some problems with excessive swelling and did not get released until 8/18/08. I am still on clear liquids and don't expect to it to change until I see the doctor on 8/26/08. I'm starving for some solid food.
  3. Yesterday I went for my pre-op visit. I don't have to go on any pre-op diet. my surgery date is 8/4/08. Now, I'm a combination of scared and excited.:tt2::smile:
  4. I just got approval from my insurance company, and I go for my first pre-surgical visit on June 19th. Now I'm starting to get nervous.
  5. My doctor has not said anything about a diet before surgery but he gave me booklet that informed me of the type of diets I will be on in the weeks after surgery. I'm sure you will be fine. I have so many other medical problems I really hope this will alleviate most of them.
  6. I am in my 3rd week of Chantix. It is covered on my prescription plan. I haven't stopped smoking yet but I have noticed a decrease in my smoking. I'm not to happy about the psychiatric consult as I've found that a majority of the Psychiatrists I've dealt with in my job are a bunch of quacks and are only out to make a buck off of people.
  7. I have been to see my doctor once but I will have my last visit with a nutritionist this Friday. I am seeing the Phychiatrist on Monday 3/10/08. I'm starting to get a little nervous. I'm trying to quit smoking, too. This isn't an easy thing for me to do but I have to do something. Any advice?
