  1. Hello all... Tomorrow morning I will be having my sleeve done. There are so many crazy emotions, happy and sad. Like I am pregnant all over again. I am nervous but honestly what did you all feel that first day. I am not worried about surgery, worried about the after. I have had 4 c-sections and a stomach infection after the last one baby. I remembered how they all felt. Just curious what should I expect tomorrow?? And btw accepting all prayers. hw - 444 ~ surgery date - 11/23 ~ cw - 378
  2. Awww thank u. I needed to hear that. I vap as well and currently no nicotine not so bad. But thank u for taking the time to write that. When is your surgery? hw - 444 ~ surgery date - 11/23 ~ cw - 378
  3. Venting session - surgery is coming up this week, Nov 23rd. Been on my pre-op diet for 12 days, feeling a little weak this weekend and lightheaded. I am a smoker (i know there will be some haters), I have smoked here and there in these last 2 weeks, I haven't had a cigarette since Friday and trying to hold out for the long stretch. Still worried doc will say no way he is doing surgery cuz I didn't quit sooner. I know all the risk, I was able to accept the diet and liquids only, I can't accept the smoking that is my huge fight. I know mind over matter, mind is winning. Like said just venting. I know all non smokers have plenty to say or roll their eyes. Just sharing with maybe someone else who is feeling the same or open page for venting. hw - 444 ~ surgery date - 11/23 ~ cw - 378
  4. OMG, you r so floating with me on this boat and I am floating with all this water. I might as well sit on the toilet and drink my water, ice tea, broth. I didn't get the option of beef broth but I will take your word for it. I was told I can have diet snapple, so tonight's treat was crushed ice and diet Snapple (sort of like a slushy). But those Protein shakes i am so over. But thx for sharing, not that I want you feeling shaky but knowing I am not alone. thank u... hw - 444 ~ surgery date - 11/23 ~ cw - 378

  7. So 3 days into my pre-op diet, surgery Nov 23rd. 800 calories, I know it is my fault for waiting so long to cut smoking out, I quit having them on Tuesday this week, just bought a pack on my way in to work a few moments ago. Had a half of one cuz i felt like throwing up. But I am so weak and shaky. I come home from work and sleep till the next day. No energy and today I just feel like crying. I am not going to throw in the towel but holy crap is this normal?? I know I sound like a wimp, some one just yell at me and shake me out of this. Me just venting.

  10. Hello... You have all prayers headed your way. The pre-op diet? I am on day 2 surgery is 11/23. I am doing 4 shakes, broth, Jello, Water and unsweet tea. I am sooooooo tired and feel weak? Did you or anyone else feel like that? You said day 3 gets better, I am looking forward AND hope that is the case for me. Dry mouth, nausea feeling, rumbling and noises from my stomach are making me feel little, guess little anxiety. I pray and know all will go well with your surgery. 11. I used fitness pal as well, very easy logging food. My surgery is set for November 23rd and I started in April at 444lbs, I am current 382 and hope to be 375 before surgery. Everybody's body is different, and people lose weight at different speeds. I had to set my mind to believe that food is fuel, and in some ways it works. I don't desire a lot of fast foods. If I did, I had it... Example went to McDonald's because I didn't have anything for lunch and I got a cheeseburger happy meal, yes I was even excited about the toy. But I definitely excersiced, I bought a small pedal bike. I watched tv or played video games with the kids and rode the bike. Best of luck to you. It is a journey but I believe it is going to well worth it. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  12. Thank u for all the great advice, ideas, I chose thanksgiving too for the extra time off. Plus no mother-in-law's house this year anyway. I hear a lot about Water intake. That seems to be a real issues most have?? Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  13. Hello from Chicago, go Cubs... I am sitting here at work and thinking of my surgery coming up on Nov. 23rd. One of my biggest worries which always drives me to eat (i call it my liquor), is finances. So not having much vacay time left. How long did some of you had to take off of work? I have a desk job, I just have to lift my arm to the mouse. So easy job, haven't told everyone about the surgery. Just was completely honest with my boss, which he is being very supportive. But i worry about how long. So if you all don't mind tell me how long you stayed home, will give me more of an idea of what to tell people. I work in an office of 8, so we all know each other business. I am not ashamed of what I am doing, but I don't want any opinions. Happy Monday All... Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  14. Thank you for your reply. I choose to have the sleeve. Congrats to you and your daughter, that is awesome. My husband had the bypass but heck that was before me so this was probably 20 years ago. Didn't work for him, he lost some weight but managed to maintain around 400lbs he is also 6'6ft tall. But these surgeries have come a long way. Especially the what not to do after, what not to eat or what to drink. You and your daughter must feel great, I am looking forward to that moment. Losing the 60 plus pounds I have already is definitely showing its rewards. Did you have the option of getting the sleeve?? Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
  15. Hello from Chicago, 38 year old mother of 3. I feel like I am the biggest person after reading all the post, which they are very helpful and now I don't feel like I am alone. I started this journey in April, but through my insurance United Healthcare. I have to be on a 6 month weight loss program. I started at 444lbs (prob the only place I will be totally honest on that) since then I am currently 379lbs as of this morning. I have done really well on my own. I haven't told people other then my husband and sister, I don't want people's opinions either way. I picked November 23rd cuz I am not a fan of thanksgiving and I don't have to go my mother n laws house this year, woohoo on that. But I truly am concerned of the preop prep, the liquid diet wondering if I actually can do that. I am not worried about the surgery, I have had 4 c-sections. Looking for maybe a buddy, friend who is getting ready too for the pre-op liquid diet. Any advice. Any before and after pics. Thx for reading all this. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App
