    I am new to this forum too, but also from Canada (BC). I went to Mexico and had my lapband from Dr. Ortiz almost 2 weeks ago. I was so impressed. I did not attempt to go through any insurance however, I have just been surveyed by Health Canada and they asked me to write a letter. I will be going to Calgary for my fills. Val from Vernon, BC
