  1. The pre-op was terrible. They gave me something that made my stomach larger and omg ridiculous cramps and discomfort. They gave me some fizzy drink, ew. And one chalky one. That was terrible. You swallowed and it was still all around your mouth. Post op, was only 2 I think. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Sorry to laugh, haha, but I cheated on my pre-op diet. I didn't have Protein shakes, well maybe two within my two week pre-op diet. I had burger king, Arby's, and tons of subway. I know I shouldn't have done that but the reasoning is to shrink your liver. I heard that is uncommon for them to open you up and nothing happen due to a fatty liver, but also that it can happen. And don't worry, you don't even feel hungry after surgery. That smell made me nauseous when I smelt it after surgery. *and I had tons of Water two days before my surgery because I was so paranoid they would cancel due to a fatty liver* Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. So I read and heard that carbonation stretches your stomach or "pouch". Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I'm only a few days out. I found my trick for Vitamins because they made me soooo nauseous the first day. I learned to take them after I have my shakes. I know to save room for the vitamins but I have the small ones with one shake and do only one larger to one shake. That way they are spread out throughout the day. Working so far! 5. I'm only a few days out but I did Clear liquids with low sodium chicken broth, Water, tea, and Jello. My surgeon called and gave me the approval for Protein shakes so I've recently added those in too. And honestly, you eat so little (only 2-3oz) that eating real food doesn't even come to mind. I mean yeah you think about how you miss it but I haven't even thought about actually eating real food. And also, cold things tend to bug my stomach. I don't like warm drinks but if I add ice it gives me really bad stomach cramps. So I just refrigerate my drinks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I'm only a few days post op and the not getting hungry part is true. When my stomach growls that's when I know I should eat. I try and keep my eating on a regular schedule. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. So I got help from my mom who previously had Bariatric surgery years ago. I was worried about the burping and cramping earlier. I'm only 5 days post op. She said that when they perform surgery they pump your stomach up with gas so they can reach everywhere. She said it's the gas still escaping. It happens to me after I drink, or when my stomach growls. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
