  1. I think I am more anxious to get to my surgery date than I was when I was 8 months pregnant to have my kids. I finished all of my testing and classes, just waiting to get insurance approval before I get the surgery date. So anxious! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I bought these yesterday at Walmart. Trying the Vanilla today. It's not that bad. I can slightly taste the Splendia but it's not overwhelming. Usually I get headaches from sugar substitutes but I had one already so I won't know if they cause one today. Good news is that I could tolerate the taste well enough to finish it today. The first powder I tried didn't pass that test. Thanks again for the recommendation. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Wow Mudgy6, what do you do to get Protein? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Great. My mother drinks the premier just for the heck if it and recommended it. I saw it at Walmart and it seemed reasonably priced. My husband drinks muscles milk which also had a 20g version. Has anyone tried the strawberries and cream? I saw it said improved taste on the box so I was wondering how awful it was beforehand. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Probably nothing, but my friend had terrible nausea and eventual vomiting post surgery. She had a structure. She had to go to the GI lab where they could stretch it. It actually happened twice to her. I would talk to the doctor. Also make sure you are not dehydrated that can cause nausea as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I HATE artificial sweeteners. Can anyone recommend a palatable Protein shake that has little to no artificial sweeteners? My intake will be 64g protein Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Today I did my EGD, the last pre-surgical hurdle. Now the doc is submitting everything to UHC for final approval so I can get my surgery date. Current Stats: Height: 5'5" Weight: 216 A1C: 10 Although I am only a BMI that fluctuates between 35-36 I am so scared of my diabetes and my failures to control it (10 years since initial diagnosis) that I opted for the RNY as It seems to have better outcomes with diabetes. I am a mother of 4 kids and I want to be around to see them grow up. My husband lost both of his parents to obesity related deaths at young ages (58/65) and it really woke me up about taking a stand. Anyways, I just wanted to put myself out here as I will be getting more and more involved as I get deeper in this process (possible surgery as early as October) Thanks for listening!
