  1. I'm 4 weeks post op. Attended Dr appt today and left in tears. Lost a mere 5lbs since my 1 week post op appt., 3 weeks ago. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I had the lap band for 9 years so I'm used to eating smaller portions. And let's get real I've already hit the box wine I'm scared, I've gone through this for a second time -for not. So I'm jumping back on that horse! I'm gonna try to get 100 g of Protein and less than 100 g of carbs daily. And try my best to cut out my favorite- wine ☹️ WE can do this????❗️ Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  3. I agree whole heartedly with the comments. However, I haven’t failed to remember that so many folks who have problems with their weight are truly addicted to food, the process of eating and the sensation of being full, etc. This is as real as any heroin addiction. Many of us had a pre-surgery psych eval. but IMO that was simply a formality for liability purposes and is as worthless as the paper it’s written on. So we have a good % of folks in all stages of this procedure with a severe food addiction-not a huge surprise, so why is the pork chop ? (LOL said in a southern accent) . I really hate that in our society it is offensive to suggest someone seek “help.” We all have issues that could use improvement-and us WLS folks are high on this list of need. I’m of the thinking that their lack of control sparks our own fears of failure, and thus the anger is released via a post. It is frustrating, just as all addictive behavior.
  4. I’m 15 days post op and I’m “only 4-5 lbs down!BUMMER. Which I clearly realized in the “Real World" is normal health loss. But folks like us who’ve resorted to going under the knife because of (in my case) life long failures at this very Quest, seem to expect the worst, and easily return to that negative thinking-for obvious reasons. We’ve been fighting a losing battle, UNTIL NOW. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! It’s as if this tool is going to stop working at any point, just like every other attempt. Wow. . I’m not much help am I LOL. Seriously, let’s stay positive follow the rules, take a walk, and win this battle-finally, and Finally. Peace!
  5. Looking for experienced lap Band to sleeve conversions. I had my Lap band removed 11/2015, Sleeved Sept 8,2016! I’ve lost maybe 1 pound or 2 lbs, since being home this week/ 8days post op. I’m starting to think-this sleeve will not be a rapid weight loss for folks like me who had a band for (2006-15!!), so WOW 9 years. My weightless was low, at 45 lbs, in the beginning , but I Know it kept me for gaining. Then once removed back to my original weight of 250. Do you Ex-banders have as much success as the other newbies? Thanks all! I’ve been creeping here for months, glad I finally signed in.

No THANK YOU! I really appreciate the support. I feel like I can eat EAT ANYTHING-which is a real surprise? I was expecting Gastric bypass symptoms I guess. But for example I ate an entire package of oatmeal this morning with no issues. Back with a well adjusted lapBand I usually had to stop at about 2/3 of a cooked package. Any thoughts?

Yup, I felt the same way and so I asked about it. With liquids and even pureed food, we won't feel restriction but with solid foods, it's a whole different ball game.

As @Sai187 said - you won't feel restriction yet. It's important to measure and stick to your recommended portion sizes. I'd stay away from oatmeal too - too many carbs! Any loss should be celebrated though!!!
