I finally convinced my doctors office to check on the status since I was getting nowhere fast. After 5 weeks the nurse hadn't even looked at my file. She spoke to a nurse supervisor and I had my approval within 4 hours. Looking at November 15th as my surgery date. November 1st if there is a cancellation. I am beyond frustrated with Aetna and the nurse who is reviewing my file. Today was the 16th business day since my paperwork was sent over and it is still in a pending status. I don't want to be a pain but I have left the nurse 2 voicemails and have heard nothing. I need a date so I can put in my FMLA paperwork. My surgeon won't give a date until I am approved.
