  1. Don't be nervous! They ask some pretty general questions and then give you an online form to fill out. Just answer honestly and you will be ok.
  2. @@glitzandglam I guess I will see you at the group nutrition class!
  3. I also had to get cardiac clearance. My EKG is abnormal 2 out of 3 times. I have had 4 stress tests in the last 10 years- always looks good including the echo. That works out nicely that you can get yourself in quickly! I hope that everything goes well! I understand about your BP issue being a reminder. I feel like their have been so many changes in my body in the last year- as if it is giving up. Just in the last month- BP, Diabetes and now an issue with my thyroid. I am looking forward to getting healthy! I start the liquid on Tuesday the 24th. I see him the 26th also- what time is your appointment? Mine is at 8:30 but I will be there most of the day because I have to wait around for the 2:00 group nutrition class.
  4. I just got my surgery date- feb7! We might be in the hospital at the same time! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Your article is very informative-thank you! I am pre-op due for gastric bypass in February. I am going to have my husband read this so he will better understand what I will be doing.
  6. That is awesome! I am waiting on insurance but they said I should be able to be scheduled the middle of February. I really like and trust Dr. Moazzez. I know you will be fine!

  11. @@cnewbodyreno They have just submitted to insurance so now I wait. I decided to have the Gastric Bypass instead of the sleeve as I have developed diabetes and I think it will help a little more. Where are you in the process now?
  12. @@Djmohr Thank you for always being the voice of reason. I love to read your posts. I am a couple of months away from surgery. I decided because of much that I have read here to start counseling now to begin the change in my thinking about food. I find it sad that people go through this major surgery unprepared for reality. I am grateful that I found this sight and appreciate the "tough love".
  13. @@JMill 72 - Thank you for your original post here. You articulated exactly what I was feeling but had not put into words yet. I too suffer from GAD which is part of the issue. We have to change the negative rhetoric we allow in our brains! In my research over the last year I have found lots to fret about. I think I am going to spend some time just looking at the positive stuff out there about bariatric surgery! Thanks everyone for your responses- I feel inspired!
  14. I see a difference in both of you- good work!
  15. Thank you both for the information! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I am having surgery in Feb and have been finding lots of great information here! I have noticed that many mention sugar free popsicles and other SF items. I am sensitive to artificial sweeteners but can use stevia. Is there anyone else that does not use artificial sweeteners and what do you eat-especially right after surgery? Thank you!
  17. I am out in Gainesville, VA. I have my first appointment with the surgeon on Thursday so I am a few months behind you! I would love to keep in touch, share stories and ideas on this process!
  18. Great job on quitting smoking! I know how difficult that is to do( I quit a few years ago) but so worth it. I see we are seeing the same doctor! I have my first appointment this Thursday. I am feeling so ready for this. I have not decided between the Gastric sleeve or the bypass yet. I have done the research but would like the docs input. Since we are local lets keep in touch and keep each other motivated for every step of this journey!
  19. I am in Gainesville and have my first appt at Inova/Fair Oaks in Oct
