  1. I found out today I do go back for the Cpap calibration. OK so everyone loves having it because you sleep so much better but...I hate things on me at night and I twist around the whole bed. Granted, if I slept maybe I would be in one position...but...Also, I'm claustraphobic so things on my face???? I'm trying to have a good attitude because I hear it is so dangerous but....UGH! Funny, I go in for a band and come out with a mask first....I'm sure it is very sexy too! Well, breathing is better than not! See, I'm trying to have a good attitude!
  2. Hi! I am an elementary Media Specialist in Mesa, AZ I was a classroom teacher for 10 years and this for 14! My how time flies by....I am so excited for you! I am waiting to schedule...I should hear soon???
  3. Great for you..it is a definite step! I have been following an exercise regimine and nutrition program since Dec. 11th, 2007. Not that I didn't before...this is just very supervised...I figure...all the toning and progress I make now while waiting makes it that much less of a battle after surgery so...good luck to us all!
  4. I went for my big appt. too and then a week later had my sleep study. That was 2/17/08...I'm still waiting to hear if I have apnea???? The tech said I did not sleep enough for them to put on the Cpap machine...she had told me at the beginning that they would during the night...anyway, no machine all night. I only slept for 2 long stretches which is what I do at home too? So, I may have to go again for them to callibrate the machine...if I need it...Im waiting!!!!
  5. I'm an Arizona teacher too! Good Luck..I'm hoping to hear about my insurance approval next week...then a lap date!! Sounds fun!
  6. :sad:Lori, good luck to you...and everyone interested in this...I'm thinking this whole journey...including the wait...is to prepare us for the LIFE LONG Change of eating habit!!! I took YEARS to decide to do this so...being in the path at this point is amazing..I can't believe all the documentation I have compiled...I just hope it is all there...I'll hear soon I'm sure. The language in my insurance doesn't become effective until SAT, March 1st...so my file will be submitted on Monday...talk about timing...bypass was covered if certain criteria was met but not lapband!!! I thought I was going to have to appeal...I still may...but at least I know now that it is an option!! Good Luck to you.... Practice your small bites and chew chew chew...not drinking with a meal is my biggest hurdle...I'm so used to trying to flood myself with Water....
  7. I know how you feel. I am waiting for the insurance approval...how long does that usually take? I'd like my surgery in June due to my schedule so I hope that they aren't scheduling that far yet!!! In the meantime, I am trying hard to exercise...limited...and loose my 15 mandatory pounds. The hard part to that is I just lost about 40 this year...so it is very slow...that is why I want the surgery!!
