I am so sorry to hear of this happening! What I do know from this is you are capable, strong, and determined to make banding happen so...get at them to communicate with you! Good Luck

I am scheduled for May
Allison, good luck at the docs...there is this thing called Family Rights and Privacy Act...work just has to have a note stating the time required off and signed...no explanation from what I've been told...NONE of THEIR BUSINESS! You could make up an exotic excuse but why??? Just say it is personal! I know what you mean about your ticker....UGH is right!!! I keep thinking last time for La Pinata food... last time for xyz....... I KNOW I will be able to still eat that but not easily.....You know we can still eat but just not the quantity...except for carbonation...that is out from what I've been told.... I will not miss soda pop just beer!

Anyone else in the <35 BMI Clinical Trial?
Foolsrushin722.. When I set up my ticker it asked if I wanted a shortcut on my desk top,,,I said yes...I also got a login and password. Now I just click on it...I put in my password and then...update ticker...if you can't get it working then do a new one and be sure to set up the shortcut??? Good Job By the way...I wish my firts fill was scheduled sooner tooo! I have them preset at 7 weeks then 3 or 4 then so on??

I am scheduled for May
Mely...I like what JBflorida had to say!! Good luck with the biopsy thing! Keep us posted! The filter thing is interesting...I don't know if my doc does those..where does it go and how does it get "out"? I'll have to google it.... BizzyBee get over that strep please! On Friday at work this woman that works part time in my "office" space came in...left to go to Dr. and then came back and said she had strep! I said...go home! Like "hello" it takes the antibiotics 24 hrs to keep you from being contageous! She stayed about an hour more..so then I sprayed down everything!! Now, I better NOT get it before my Band date....But I won't worry about it! UGH!@!!!

Thinking of Cancelling Surgery!!!
MargieM-- If I don't like the band, I will have it removed. It is worth trying as so many people on this site seem to like their band. :welldoneclap: I know what you are saying but my doc also said that it is harder to put "in" the band than take it out...not that it can't be done...so, be sure you are ready before so that you don't Have to remove the band...... Just my thoughts! :Banane53: My date 5/28 is fast approaching!!! Yea!!:Banane44:

Soda soda soda
and.....GREAT POST SEATTLESWEETIE..... also, if you say well it is diet...there is research and data supporting that too much sweetner is bad too....they say some bodies think itis sugar anyway???? So, I say...stay away from soda.....Have to admit an old fashioned Root Beer Float used to float my boat! LOL....

Lap-band Convention
Cher, thanks for the reply....No problem...I was just brainstorming! Keep us posted on the plans though! AND THANK YOU!!!

Lap-band Convention
I think it sounds great! Any chance it would be Oct 10th weekend? That is when many AZ people have fall break...there seems to be a lot of teachers among us bandsters!!! Also, what about an Endocronologist...I have a great one in mind...She could talk about Diabetes...management...etc... Plus then we could room together! I know she speaks aroung the country not as a "band" person but she is who encouraged me... Also, inviting folks from The American Diabetic and American Heart Associations....Breast Cancer etc.... Maybe even some pharmaceutical reps...they could throw in some "freebies?" sponsers etc....

Soda soda soda
OK...Soda I won't miss as stated in my response on page 1....But a chilled glass of Beer...I KNOW I will miss that....and flat beer is grotesque so...I guess I need to ask myself...Healthy or beer? Good weight ( as in not obese) or beer?..... Now, I do plan to have an occasional glass of wine...but not until way later...any thoughts on the subject of wine? (Heart Healthy 1 glass wine?)

Soda soda soda
For all you soda addicts...if you give it up...in time it does get better! I was the queen of Big Gulps and Tab in Highschool...then diet this and diet that.....as a new teacher..I was the one carrying around the diet soda, not a mug of hot java, in the morning (24 years ago!) Then when I was prego I switched to non diet kind so back to decaf DR. P I went...oh yummy...that was 21 years ago...along the way I tried to just slow down on it all...then in 2000 I gave it up cold turkey...switched to a GIANT iced coffee that I sipped on all day. ( I would go to 7-11 or whatever and fill a 64 oz full of ice then pour coffee and some cream/sweatner in...sip all day...it turned out to be about 10 oz of coffee in all that ice.... At any rate, then I said no more soda.... Well, here it is 2008 and THEY said, "NO SODA!!" it causes your pouch to expand...and it is empty calories, and if diet...too much sweatner makes you crave sugar... YIPEE for me...NO PROBLEMO!!! Now, I have done away with caffine pretty well lately...I do love ice tea but I am used to just Water with lemon...I don't really care for any flavored kool aid stuff so...water it is....after banding....I will go back to a bit of coffee or tea but not for the first month was the directive I was given. The best part is....Soda is pricey and especially ordering out. Water is cheaper! Watch, they will start charging for the requested lemon slice! Good Luck!

Any May Bandsters?
Good Luck Michele and everyone else!!! Funny about the acid reflux comment because that was one of the side effects of Morbid Obesity in my medical necessity letter??So, I guess you can have it either way???? I can NOT believe how fast this month is going compared to March when I was waiting for approval! UGH!!! I am so excited and so scared at the same time.... I know I have made the right decision but the waiting is so.......scary??? We will all be great!! Hang in There! TTFN Shelley

I am scheduled for May
Congrats to those of you that just got your dates!! Yes, we may not outwardly seem stressed but I am sure snappy too! I know we will all be fine...I had surgery last summer and did great but it does feel like I have been talking about this as if it would be someone else and someday.... NOW IT IS ALMOST HERE!!!! YIKES!!! It is so funny how emotional this is...the other night I was telling a coworker of my DH's that I was having the band and I almost started tearing up!!! Like - I feel so grateful that the decision has been made and it is going to happen...and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel .... so it is relief and anxiety at the same time!! I tend to analyze everything so that doesn't help right now...LOL TTFN Shelley

I don't have to shop in the "plus size" section
Too fun everyone!! I can't wait to see what clothes I am in by winter because...well, I want some new choices!!! I have several outfits with tags still on that are too big now from my recent loss...I think I will find a women's shelter to donate them too! Keep it up everyone!

I am scheduled for May
I am so excited for everyone... Bandfan1 I sure have enjoyed our conversations...it really helps to know what is ahead... May is such a horrible month for me with end of school and I am in charge of 3 different "food" events!!! UGH!! I am doing great on my "plan" but boy...I sure could be stress eating...which brings me to my next point... Did all of you banded..... and those of you May flowers in waiting...are you getting "bit##y" with stress maybe? Even though I am excited, I am sooooo uneven right now...must be the stress of all AND the upcoming surgery...and not eating for comfort??? Anyone know what I mean? I just sorta tell it like it is lately.... I am actually shocking some people with my bluntness! Oh well...maybe I'm on the road to be one of those, pardon the expression..."Skinny Bi###es"! Please tell me I'm not alone because I am usually not like this... Well, TTFN
