Charlene - during my weight loss phase I really limited my carbs to my 1/2 cu rice at night - What are you doing trying to eat bread??? Come on now GF - Bread is a treat no longer a daily staple (I only eat a 1/2 slice when I go out for dinner)- well it's ok if it's lite bread for a sandwich - but bread & butter - gone for good - efined carbs waste of calories and to filling and no nutritional value... Well, I ate fish patty out of a sandwich, so I ate a piece of the bun. You are right......we can't eat that anymore. I can't eat rice either.....it seems to get stuck. I don't think I chew it up well enough. I am tracking on Daily plate again. That way I can keep better track of carbs, sodium, and Protein.

Yeah, I thought so on the carb thing. I have been looking on labels ..........I still am eating too many carbs, but with this new fill that may cut it down. I just ate a piece of fish....went down....but then I ate a piece of bread....yuk!...stuck! So, I will be cutting down on the carbs.

Well, call it old age or ADD I forgot about the fill and ate chicken for lunch. Two bites into it and yep, slimed and pb'd. You would think I would learn. I am sipping on warm tea and ate Cream of Wheat for dinner. My DH is going for bypass. The thought of getting fills and sliming is a real turn off to him. He has to lose at least 130lbs. At least we will be a team. We got fat together and we will get skinny together......all in a span of 40years. I am excited about the personal trainers. I was embarrassed when she measured my fat, but she put me at ease. She really encouraged me. She said to only eat whole grains and keep my sugar intake to 40grams a day.She didn't say anything about carbs. I think she said 50 grams of Protein, but I know to eat more. Oh, and she said to weigh only once every two weeks. Don't know if I can do that. As far as training we were given resistance exercises with bands.

Thanks Long. I really have been working on my bites and chews so I am hoping I do better with this fill. My husband is getting bypass. He doesn't like needles of any kind. I started back with the weight loss bible study tonight. We got a special blessing.....two members of the church are fitness trainers and they are helping us without charge. They gave us a nutrition class tonight. I am excited about getting my body fat down. They also gave us some resistance training. I know things WILL change. I don't have any excuses now.

Well, I am back from getting a fill. I only got .4cc and then I will go back in three weeks for another. Of course he asked how I was doing, and I told him about the Christmas baking. He said"noooooo, you can't do that". My DH consulted with him about gastric bypass and he said there wouldn't be a problem getting him approved. So, now we will be on the same eating plan. It will just make this journey so much easier. Dr. Davis has a new book out on a complete guide to WLS. I ordered it from Amazon and he said he would sign it. I asked his PA about Big Medicine. They are still planning to have more episodes ,but don't have a date yet. Long, I am so tempted to watch QVC,but with my husband's job still hanging in the balance I can't afford to be tempted. QVC is one of my favorite places to shop.

JANET, I am here.....just nothing to report. I am going to get a fill on Monday. My DH is going with me.....he is having a consult with Dr. Davis for WLS. I think I am ready for this fill. I have been working on my bites and chewing. Also, when I feel the least bit stuck I put down my fork and stop eating. My weight has not moved. I know I am eating too much, but I am staying away from bad stuff. Christmas baking was like an alcoholic pouring liquor for guests all day long. I WILL NOT bake next year. I have already told my family that I cannot take that risk again.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Orea, so good to see you post. I was wondering if you were okay. Looks like you are doing good. I go for a fill on Monday, and boy, do I need one. I think I almost have a handle on the "first bite syndrome". When I get that "feeling" , I just put my fork down. It doesn't happen every time, but at least I have learned to recognize when I am getting stuck.

How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
Donna, We share the same bandiversary date. I too thought I would have lost more by now. 21lb was prior to banding. I only have myself to blame because I haven't been diligent with the journaling or exercising. I am getting a fill on Monday, and I hope it will jump start me. Oh, by the way, I found the EDAMAME at Kroger. That is a good snack. Thanks for telling us about it.

WOW! That will be the next brand of cereal I try. I am all for protein and fiber. Girl, I could probably do 1 1/2 cups of cereal. I don't have any restriction, but I will get some next Monday. My emails are back too! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!:cursing::thumbup::cursing:

Where would I find it at Kroger or Walmart? What does it tastes like? Nuts? Looks like a good source of protein.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Yep, I started clicking the bold because even though I have 20/20 vision after cataract surgery I still need color to be darker for clarity. I know, I have an Iphone and can't view the LBT emails. I do use the usercp. I am spoiled. Janet, I ate Basic 4 cereal this morning . It is good. It has 4g of protein. It is made by General Mills.

Apples, I agree.....hats off to teachers. My two daughters are teachers. My youngest was in the corporate world, but wanted to make a difference. She became a teacher in the inner city of Houston. Joann, what an awesome testimony about your son. Adversity does make one stronger. Yep, we all have great kids. Changing the subject.....I bought some Basic 4 cereal today. Does anybody eat it? It looked good and healthy.

Good for you.....you are too kind......I may have given her a piece of my mind. I too, have two ADD sons. One is quite successful the other is struggling( he is adopted and has other issues). Both were treated in school like they would never amount to anything. Both went into the military for eight years and also pursued college degrees. They are in there thirties now. Back when they were young children were not tested for ADD. They were just called troublemakers or class clowns.

Janet, I am back in my walking routine......DH is back at work.......... started journaling my food AGAIN. Services went well for my aunt. I go for a fill on the 19th....can't wait. I am getting the small bite, chew chew thing down....now I need restriction.
-
July Butterflies Master Thread
My doctor wants me to have enough restriction so that I eat 1/2 a cup of protein six times a day. It sounds like a small amount. So far, I can eat a whole lean cuisine at a sitting. I probably need a couple of more fills. If you are pbing a lot.....yes, you might need to get an unfill.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Apples, your right, Miralax reacts to everyone's body differently. I take it everyday. When it was a prescription....it was much stronger. Also , there is a warning on it about those with Kidney problems. It might not be good for you since you produce stones. I have been on Miralax for a few years. It keeps me from having serious colon problems. So, everyone should just find what works for them.:thumbup::tt1:

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
I pb'd and vomited four times after a fill before I called the doctor. When I called I went that day for an unfill. You might ought to call the doctor. Have you had your gall bladder removed? This could be easily fixed, but you won't know until you consult your doctor. Maybe he has a doctor filling in for him. I have been working on small bites and chewing for the last month and I think I am now ready for another fill. You have to have both......restriction and taking small bites with alot of chewing. I hope you feel better soon.
