  1. Here's the big question ... My first fill was 12/30 and I had 1.5 cc in a 4cc band, went for 1 week and felt absolutely no restriction, Dr. said comeback in and he would add alittle more, so 1 week later I go in and he adds .25 so now i am at 1.75. Did my swallow test with no problems and went home on phase 2 liquids for 48 hours. Well after that, the first 2 bites of anything I eat feels like I am having a heart attack! Then I start to get the hickups and all of this "slimy stuff" comes up. After that sometimes I am ok and I can eat, other times I have to just quit and have liquids or Soup. I feel that I am overeating after the "slime" as I am not losing any weight (I know I can eat more than my cup to cup and a half total, but all of this pain with the first bites hurts soooooo bad. Do you all think maybe my band is to tight or I am just forcing food through the pain? Or could I be eating too fast? Looking for any ideas or help on this... I am getting so discouraged!:faint:
  2. I have a question about my fill. I had an initial fill of 1.5cc in a 4cc band on the 12/30. A week later I was back in getting another .25 cc added as I did not feel any restriction. Well now I have restriction (maybe too much). The first 2 bites of almost anythig I eat seem to cause a severe "heartburn" type reaction, almost to the point of holding my breath it hurts soooo bad. I then start to feel really sick and go to the bathroom where everytime I hickup I throw up a clear mucas (gross). After I do this for 5 or 10 minutes I feel fine and can eat ... anyone have any ideas of why this is happening? The only thing I seem to have no trouble with is soups and thin mashed potato's. Do you think my band is too tight or do I just need to be patient and wait to get adjusted. Also, weight is very slow in coming off, some weeks with no loss at all. Confused in Dallas! BSB1224:help:
  3. I am going for my first fill today also, with Dr. Cribbins in Plano. Guess I am just a little anxious, but am excited also and hoping to feel some sort of restriction as I have not felt anything as of yet! I had my surgery on 11/15/05 and have "teetered" from 19 to 20 pounds loss, had a few weeks with no weight loss at all, not really worried about it, it was supposed to be the time for my band and incisions to heal, but am ready to get on with it now. Everyone I have talked to has said Dr. Cribbins is not "aggressive" when it comes to fills but I hope he is aggressive with me, will let everyone know after my fill! :paranoid
  4. TRy this Protein drink: In Blender: 6 oz. sugar free apple juice 1/2 small banana 6-7 frozen strawberries 2 packets Splenda sweetner Blend on "liquifey" until smooth, then add 1 level scoop of Isopure whey Protein powder (found at most health food stores) and choose the "blend" setting on your blender. pur over crushed ice for a yummy protein drink! Isopure contains 23 grams of protein in every 6 oz of liquid. AS well it is the unflavored and has no taste. Enjoy!
  5. I was banded 2 weeks ago today, and my Dr. has me on full liquids for 6 weeks total. I am finding it sooooo hard to stay on! He said I should have no more than 2 oz. at a time and to sip liquids all day. Women to aim for 45 - 50 gr. of protein daily. If I miss out on my protien drink, I stave all day. I have at some solid foods with out a problem and wonder if I am doing more harm than good. I feel fine but I am stuck at a 15# loss which I lost in the first week. Any suggestions or ideas out there? I know I am no where near 1200 calories a day, how do I get my intake up? BSB
  6. I too am new to this forum, I was banded on 11/15 in Plano by Dr. Cribbins. Will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I am down 15 lbs. I also seem to be losing inches as my clothes don't feel nearly as tight! Yeh! Long way to go... Anyone have any ideas on how to load the ticker symbols?
