  1. Hi, I was just wondering: if the 4th fill did the trick, why did you get a 5th? Also how do you know when you have reached your sweet spot? I was banded on Jan. 21, 2009. I've had three fills, but don't think I'm quite there yet. I sometimes get that very uncomfortable feeling. I hope that's not it. Thanks, Chloe
  2. Hi Munchkin 392, I found your post interesting and would like to read previous post you have written about the Trinity program. Could you tell me how to find them? Thanks:rolleyes2: Chloe
  3. I would give anything to be able to have something to chew! My two week pre-op diet is liquids only except suger free jello. It's pretty hard to chew jello! I wish I knew why the pre-op diets are so different. But I'll stick with it and look forward to the 21st.
  4. Hi, I'm going to be banded on Jan. 21. How's everyone doing with the pre surgery liquid diet? Does anyone else have to do it for two weeks? It's killing me!
  5. Hi, I'm getting banded on Jan. 21, 2009. After one appeal and one denial I was finally approved on Dec. 18th. My two week liquid diet starts on Jan 05. I'm a little nervous about that. But determined to succeed! Started the whole process March 2008. Good luck to all of you.
  6. Hi Kitcatnap, Congratulations on finaly having a date for your banding! How long has the process taken for you? I started in Feb. 08. Getting nowhere fast! Do you have to be on a liquid diet before the surgery? Good luck! Keep us posted.
  7. Opus, Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your husband. I'm sure you would welcome some good news in your life. Hopefully you'll hear some soon.
  8. Opus, Yes I went through the whole psych thing It cost me over 400 out of pocket just to find out I'm normal. I think it's a racket. It's like lets see how many different doctors can we make richer off of this? Now my family docs office can't seem to find my old records. They only have three years of past records and the ins. wants proof I've been obese for at least five years. If they can't come up with the other two years I don't see how I will get approved. Very discouraging. But at least I will have written proof I'm not crazy:)
  9. WOW! So Sorry that happen. What a disappointment. I have a hernia also. I'm still in the pre-approval stage. The doctor at the infromational meeting told me they could fix the hernia and still do the lap-band. I'm looking to have mine done in Moline, IL. where are you from? Good luck.
  10. Hope you got your call from the drs. ofc. I had no idea United Healthcare would take so long to give approval. I haven't even applied yet! Nancy at Trinity is checking to see if the ins. would accept my 6 months at Curves inloo of 6 months of Dr. visits. I've already done 3 months of office visits. I was really hoping I could get banded this spring, but it doesn't look good :frown: P.S. My Chloe is a three year old boxer.
  11. :cool:Hi Irish76, love your username. I'm Irish too, but I wasn't clever enough to come up with a good user name. I used my dogs name "Chloe". Don't ask me why! My name is Sara. Anyway you and I are both playing the waiting game. I've already done the psych last month. That was pretty weird. I'm not very patient so I hate waiting for my records to be sent in. How hard could it be to find some records? I saw my family doc today. He promised they would try to speed things up.
  12. Hey Jessie, Sounds like you are doing great with your weight loss, congratulations! Thanks for letting me know about Dr. Hass. I like the idea of having a women doctor. By the way my name is actually Sara. My dogs name is Chloe. Back in feb. when I registered I didn't know how all this worked. This is my first time using a forum or chat room. Now I wish I had used my real name. Do you know if there is anyway to change your user name? Have you been to any support group meetings yet? I really wanted to go in Mar. and Apr. but due to circumstances beyond my control I didn't make it. I'm going to make sure I go in May.
  13. Hi fellow Quad-citians! I'm from Coal Valley. I've done everything I need to do, psych eval., etc. just waiting for my doctor to give me my records. United Health wants records that show I've been obese for at least five years. My doctors office says they have to go to RI. and look up my old records. I've been waiting for three months! Very frustrating. Has anyone else been banded at Trinity? The co-ordinator told me to get ready to pick a doctor. Any recommodations?
