  3. I have to be at the hosp. at 6am in the morning. I just want to say thank you to everyone on here that posts things to help us, the unbanded. I also want to say thank you to all that have sent me thoughtful messages about different things I have gone through. I can't wait to walk through the bandsters door. I am about to pack a bag.....tell me what helped you while you were in the hosp. Again thank you for all your help!!!!
  4. Thank you for the kind words....I am feeling a little better. My doctor called me in a Z pak so hopefully it will help. I am still hopeful that I will be having surgery on Monday!!!!
  5. I will be staying overnight. My doctor said the if the ins. is going to pay it then he is going to take it....so it requires an overnight stay. Good luck to you!!!!
  6. Everything went fine today!!! They said they don't know what happened with the last one but this one looked fine. Now I am coming down with a cold. If it isn't one thing it is something else....I must get rid of it by Monday at 6am. Thank you so much to all of you that sent good wishes.....it means a lot to know I have such a big "family". Again thanks!!!!!
  7. Thank you so much for posting. I looked at the link and the placement is a little off from what she did. I go back today and I will not let a student do it this time. I will let you know how it turns out!!!!
  8. I went for pre op yesterday and everything went fine or so I thought. There was student doing my EKG alone but I didn't think to much of it. Now I have never had a EKG done but the placement of the leads seemed to be a little off but like I said I had never had one done. She placed a lead on each leg, 2 under each boob and one set on my chest, does that sound right? Anyways the hosp. called today and said that the EKG didn't come back good and I need to have another one done tomm. Can someone tell me if those are the places the leads go and should I worry about this? I don't have any health problems other then my weight. I am a little worried something could really be wrong and I won't be able to have the surgery on monday. If there is something wrong then I am glad to be finding out now but I just wonder if the student did something wrong. Any help would great if it is just to put my mind at ease.

  22. Good luck on getting your date in May. Even if you have to wait until June you will still have a start to a new life. It is just important that you are taking the steps, and you are. Good luck to you and keep us posted!!!!
  23. I have united healthcare and they are covering the entire process but about $200.00. I do not have any underlying health conditions so I didn't know if I was going to get approved. I did have a BMI of over 40 so I didn't have to have any underlying health conditions to be considered. I did not have to do the 6 month diet before I was considered. The entire process took about a month. I will be banded on May 12th and can't wait. Hope this helps a little and good luck to you!!!!
  24. Thank you for your responses...they have helped a lot!!!
  25. I always thought you could. I was told that straws were fine. It will be interesting to see what people have say about this. Please keep us posted!!!!
