  1. hey im in huntsville, i have aetna as primary and bcbs of alabama as secondary i have more questions about the 6 mth thing. and all
  2. im suppose to be on the 6 mth thing for aetna and blue cross, on the dietician part are you having to visit them seperately or is your dr just doing it both??? have u had to go to the dietician every month or what?? im confused.
  3. OK heres mine, i am in my 6mth pre-op thing Here I am current and at goal weight of 160.
  4. Ok im trying to make sure im going about this right. I havent really done anything. I went to a seminar in nov 06 about the gastric surgery. Well I know that my insurance has to have a 6 mth supervised diet and stuff. So I started going to my family dr in January she told me to just watch my portions and to exercise and come in every month to be weighed. Do I need to call whomever Im interested in doing the surgery and let them know Im starting the 6 mths, and is this the proper things to do in the 6 mths. What did yalls 6 mths consist of??? Im just afraid Im gonna go through all of this 6 mths and it be for nothing and have to go through something else u know. And should I contact insurance (i have aetna and bcbs of alabama) and let them know Im looking into having this. Im really truly lost.
  5. IM not sure. I know that they need documented medical records of what your doing, and your weigh ins with the dr etc. I have aetna and bcbs of alabama. Im in my 6 mth thing now, Started in January. I hope that is what is needed. Im looking forward to seeing the replies also.
  6. my ef when I was diagnosed was 40-45 (which is not as bad as alot of people) according to the docs its now around 55. I think im having a setback though cause my ankles are swollen and i gained some weight this past week really quick, but im currently trying to come down sick so i dont know if this persistent cough and little weez is from my heart or whatever cold im trying to get u know.
  7. Hey yall. My name is Nina. Im 27 and am working on the 6 mth wait period and will decide at the end if I want to have the surgery. I was gonna have the gastric bypass but it is way to final. If that makes since. I dont want to drop the pounds that drastically I want a less risky and a loss of weight that will be at a slower rate that way I can work on my muscles, excesses skin, and self esteem. I dont want to go from fat to skinny over night. I think a slower weight loss is better. So Im thinking of getting the lapband but Im scared. I have had a lot of health issues. About 7 mths ago I had Congestive Heart Failure and diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy. When diagnosed I had a 3 yr old and a beautiful 4 day old (now 7mths old) at home. I am determined to be healthier and to live to see my kids grow up. In the past 7 mths I have joined Curves and have been working out and trying to eat better (cutting portions also). Lately I have slacked but I gotta get back on track. Ok Im sorry this is so long but I figured I would tell it all while i can lol.
