  1. Try sleeping in your recliner with a pillow or folded blanket to prop you on your side a bit, it really helped me Tuani

  3. I did the same thing! I bought pre-made low sodium broth top heat, but I made chicken and beef bone broth and froze that! Tuani

  8. I'm told I will likely only need to do a 24 hour pre-op diet. I guess I'll know for sure at the pre-op appt 8/4. Sounds like most of you have to do longer though. I wonder why that is?They usually have you do one to two weeks pre-op diet to facilitate the beginning of quick weight loss in order to shrink the liver to make surgery easier. Tuani
  9. Mine is a 800 calorie full liquid that includes 5 Atkins shakes, plus water, sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles, decaf tea/coffee, crystal light or such sugar free drinks. I start Wednesday July 27th Tuani
  10. I start my pre-op diet Wednesday July 27th. I've been doing Atkins shakes or high protein Slim Fast with one small solid meal for a couple weeks now to help ease in and also because I have a dairy allergy. So I wanted to make sure my body would tolerate that amount of dairy. So far so good! Tuani

Talk to your doctor's about SCD'S (sequential compression device) they wrap around your legs while you are laying down and electronically inflate/compress and deflate/decompress to help increase regular circulation. They are usually used for patients Post-op or for people who are less mobile but they may be able to issue some to use at home. Tuani

I've never had a major surgery before, but I have good support from my mother, fiance, and a couple great friends.
