Dr Borland - Louisiana
My 2 days at the hotel were about the same but I think I slept a little more and did less walking than Flipper98c. Had a 3 hour drive home on the 3rd day and that went better than expected. You are correct, every day it gets a lot easier. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Definitely sounds like a rough day. I tossed the liquid pain med once (the first time) but did better with it the next day. The first 48 hours is exhausting and tough but gets better from there. Let us know if you need anything! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dr Borland - Louisiana
He told me I needed to go to a cardiologist and then he gave me clearance and requested bloodwork, EKG and ultrasound of my heart. I will tell you that the cardio tried to talk me out of it saying I didn't need it (lower bmi patient). I just listened, thanked him for his opinion and went on my way. He did give me clearance tho. I also had to have an EGD. He tried to talk me out of it too. My mind was already made up tho Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Each time it's been 7-10 days and then I'll drop 1-2 pounds. This is slow moving but that's kind of what I expected and hoping that will help it stay off. Weighed in this morning at 163.7 ... 35 pounds total since my highest weight. Your day is almost here! Can't wait to hear all about it. If you have any questions while you're there, don't hesitate to ask! So excited for you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What do y'all think is wrong?
For what it's worth, I get those bubbles (and some call it the foamies) when I eat sugar or I eat too much or I eat too fast. Everything has to be in alignment to avoid them! Good Luck, you'll find what works for you eventually. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

2 Month Update
Thank you Mimi52 - how are you doing? Your name makes me curious. I turned 53 a couple weeks after my surgery and have 7 grandkids and one in the way. How far out are you? How have you done, etc? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

2 Month Update
Excited that I hit a new low this morning and wanted to share stats! HW 198.7 SW 190 CW 169.5 GW 145 (maybe) Total of 27.2 lost overall - going slowly but that's ok. It's still moving in the right direction! Still not sure what goal weight I want. I feel pretty good but would at least like to hit a non-overweight BMI with a little wiggle room. Thanks for all your advise, thoughts and support through our journey together! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

8 Week Shopping List
My Dr has released me to pretty much anything at this point (8 weeks post op). I still struggle with a few foods but as long as I eat slow and stop with the first sense of discomfort, I'm ok. I am about to go grocery shopping and just wanted some ideas from everyone of your staple foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

BP August 2016
I used to be a part of the BP August 2016 Facebook group but I had to shut down Safari and now when I search for the group, even though I think I'm still a member, I can't find it. Any suggestions? Can the Admin message me? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What to tell people?
Go with Hiatal Hernia repair ... recovery, scars, etc are almost identical. It's no one's business but this seems to put them at ease. It also explains why you're eating the way you have to eat for the following few months. I mention this because even if you're splitting meals with your spouse, for a long time, you will literally take a few bites and have to be done. Then you sit and visit with a full plate of food ... it can be a little awkward. I personally just don't have time to explain all my reasons for why I needed to do this. I'm not really trying to be sneaky or secretive but my weight issues are just not something I feel comfortable discussing. If people know, and then I don't talk about it, it becomes and even bigger deal and I just don't want it to be a deal at all! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
