Getting Approved with <40 BMI
Should start above 40 if going that route. Your ins should spell out what qualifies as a comorbidity too. I know I have read on here about people denied using those you mentioned. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What to expect when I wake up?
Some pain in the abdomen, but you'll be pretty out of it. Pain meds help. The worst for me was the wrenching in my stomach when I would sip Water. That wasn't the worst pain I've ever had, but wasn't fun. My doc had me sipping an oz of water over every hour once I was awake. Getting up the first time hurt, but moving helped. Much easier getting up the second time. Next day built up to 8oz of water over an hour. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Desperately seeking advice - please offer yours!
If he can't move forward I would expect your recovery to be easier than with the entire procedure. And if you get the whole procedure, it's what you want. If you trust your doctor, go for it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

it's hard to top chicken breast on protein grams/per calorie right?
Take a cup of Kosher salt and add Water to a bowl. Let the breast rest in the brine for an hour before drying and cooking. Locks in the moisture. Tastes awesome. **edit- doesn't actually lock moisture in, it draws moisture in and make it juicier.

Going in tomorrow morning.
Stomach pain but unless something unexpected crops up things are going great. Thanks for this group. It's very much helped me to get where I am, and I know it's only begun.

Going in tomorrow morning.
I just keep asking if I am sure. I've had zero doubts for the months I've been learning and working to get this far. This has to be normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Aetna insurance in Georgia
I am using Dr. Stetler at Emory Bariatrics (Emory Midtown). I have surgery in two days. He has been great to this point, and the program has been very easy to follow with them.

Wow. Tomorrow!
I go in on the 4th. I have Dr. Stetler at Emory Midtown, but the surgery is at St. Joseph's. I am on my 5th day of pre-op liquid and my mind is mush. I am also having incredibly anxiety today. It sounds like we have a lot in common. I'm a little older, but I have a 16 month and a loving wife at home that are my inspiration. I don't think there are any words that are going to relieve our worries, but we are in great hands. I wish you the absolute best and and easy recovery. You've got this.

My surgery date is August 4 ,2016
My surgery is the 4th as well. Just started liquid yesterday. I am tired, but making it. Hope your surgery and recovery go perfect.

Day 1 of pre-OP liquid diet
I am on day two of the liquid pre-op. They tell me no caffeine, but herbal teas are ok. I accidentally had tea with caffeine, and I feel awesome. How strict is this no caffeine rule? I'm gonna try to follow it, but man was it nice.
