  5. Got home this afternoon on post op day 2. Took a hot shower, feeling much better. My doctor gives out these handy cards to record Fluid intake, pain, nausea, walking, incentive spirometers etc,so I'm trying to religiously log everything. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  13. Going home today!! I agree about the biotene, it was awesome! And I wish I hadn't packed so much stuff. I haven't used anything except my toothbrush, face wash, biotene, phone and iPad. I'm planning to wear the same clothes back home, didn't even need my PJs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Jt925, You alone are responsible for your health. You choose who and what to tell. I am 2 days post VSG, didn't tell my mom either. My mom and I are both doctors. She knows how hard I exercise. But I do not expect her to understand why I did this for myself. She would consider this too drastic, and a lack of discipline on my part. Maybe I will tell her someday, maybe I won't! I had the same feelings of guilt going in to surgery, now it's almost time to go home! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  16. Thanks for the wishes everyone! Had some initial pain in the recovery room, but able to walk after pain meds. Just did 10 laps around the unit. Hope everyone is doing well! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. Getting ready to go to hospital. Surgery is at 9:30. Just want this to be over! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Bluesky1, My ex-husband used to refuse to sleep with me because I am fat. He would even hesitate to pose with me in pictures. Now, this is a guy who is obese and has high cholesterol. Yes, I'm fat, but I exercise 5-6 days a week at an intense level, and my labs are better than a teenager's. Like you, my BMI was just over 35, and I almost didn't qualify for surgery. I lived with the a*****e because I wanted my child to have an intact family. Then I decided that I did not have to take his bullshit, and got a divorce. I'm much happier now. I'm getting a VSG tomorrow to Celebrate the 1 year anniversary of my divorce. Remember, nobody can make you feel bad without your permission!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
