Waiting on my first consultation
I so feel you! I just had my first appt on June 24th and my next is July 15th to go all the tests results and meet with NUT. It's ALL I think about too!! I also workout a lot and eat pretty healthy most of the time and feel like my body does not match my lifestyle and I'm so tired of the struggle! Congrats on making the decision to get help and good luck on your first appt! Keep us posted! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Had no clue you had sleep apnea?
Has anyone been diagnosed with sleep apnea thru this process and had no clue before hand? Just curious. I go for my sleep study Wednesday night and I have no idea what it will reveal. My husband says I snore loud almost every night. He sleeps with ears plugs Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Post OP w/ a 2 year old
So far my husband and I are planning to find childcare just while I'm in the hospital but he can't take anymore time off work when we get home and I have a 2 year old. Do you think I'll be able to manage without overdoing it? Or should I arrange some help for a few days so I can actually rest and recover? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Gain weight to qualify?
I'm 9lbs from 40 BMI and it is hard to gain that much quickly. I also feel terrible and just want to eat healthier. I'm having to buy some new clothes just to get thru these next few months. It'll all be worth it in the end right? I get my blood work back tomorrow and sleep study hopefully next week. I'm praying for a comorbidity so I can start eating better. I'm more than ready! Anyone looking at an August surgery date?
I'm hoping for August. I'm traveling overseas for a wedding in October so it's either August or November. Just started this process and won't even get approved until August so I'm hoping for a miracle Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My journey has begun!
Hi everyone! A friend of mine reached out to me 2 years ago about considering wls and I thought "no way! It's too drastic" well here I am 2 years later the exact same size after trying & trying & trying. After giving it thorough consideration I'm finally going through with it and I'm so excited! If it wasn't for her bringing it up I would have never thought it was an option. I'm a 32 yo female, 5'5", 231# & 38BMI. The kicker is I've been an avid crossfitter for 4 years and coaching regularly for 3! I also aim for a Paleo lifestyle because it makes me feel amazing but I get discouraged when my weight doesn't budge. I'm sharing because like most of us the reaction I've gotten from my friends about wanting to get wls has been negative. If anything I feel like my story is proof that we can't control our hunger, that our stomaches are stretched and damaged and we just can't help it. I've tried it all since I've been a teenager, lost some weight and the moment I stop tracking (obsessing) over everything I eat the weight starts creeping back on. The only time in my life I can remember managing my weight was when I smoked. So far in this process I've had my first consultation and getting all my blood work, sleep study, psych eval and nutrition appt in next 2 weeks. I have Tricare so I need 2 months of weigh ins and then off to insurance it goes. This may sound awful but with my current BMI I have to have 1 comorbidity to get approved and I'm hoping one of those tests comes back with something. I'm 10lbs from 40BMI and I can't gain anymore weight! I'm really looking forward to being able to trust my body! I'll be posting updates of my process! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
