  2. I was very intentional about putting together my support team prior to the surgery. I reconnected with a therapist, and found an independent nutritionist who knew about bariatric surgery. I'm glad I did, because I've definitely had some post-surgical experiences that I've been grateful to be able to process and work through with my "team". I figured: this is major, life-changing (good and bad) surgery, and I need to give myself the best chance to succeed. Someone suggesting support is doing you a favor: they want you to be one of the positive statistics. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

  4. I was sleeved on the 18th as well. I've had moderate pain, but have been walking and moving around. One incision spot hurts worse than the other 5 combined. Doc says that's because that's how they took the excess stomach out, and that I have stitches in that muscle. I've had trouble urinating since the surgery, so they re-catheterized me. That is causing more discomfort than anything else. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  5. I just got insurance approval for my July 18 sleeve surgery. I've been on the pre-op diet and crossing my fingers that everything would come through. Scared. Exited. Nervous. Ready. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  6. Oh, and I'm pre-op -- scheduled for 7/18, but already down 13 from my meeting with the surgeon a 3 weeks ago. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm just starting to use it now. Bookfoolish is my id. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  8. You've probably already seen/heard this, but Elna is Act 3. http://m.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/589/tell-me-im-fat Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm out on the Vineyard and have a surgery date of 7/18 at B&W. I'd love to stay in touch for future potential support gatherings. I know I'm not in Boston, but I do go there fairly regularly. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
