  1. I've never heard that carbs specifically build muscle. Excess calories, protein and working out builds muscle.
  2. I have two protein shakes a day. That combined with greek yogurt for breakfast, and 1/4 cup of chicken for both lunch and dinner gets me over my protein goals by a good amount. In two days I have to cut back on my shakes, though. They want me to only have one a day after I start on soft foods.
  3. 252.4 as of this morning Edit:I was sleeved on June 1st
  4. My weight went up after surgery, too. They pump you full of fluids in the hospital. I was 277-278 the day of surgery and was 284 the next day. It comes off quick, so don't be discouraged.
  5. Exactly.
  6. I'm able to drink almost normal now. 100oz is no problem for me at 25 days outI'm only at day 6 though so I'm still sipping slowly. I do about 2 oz every 15 minutes. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App Gatorade g2 or propel water were recommended by my surgeon
  7. I found liquids easier to deal with than pureed foods. I get to progress to soft foods on Wednesday and hope it gets better.
  8. I lost everything the doctor wanted me to lose in the 6 month period. You should use this time to learn how you should be eating and working out as much as possible. These will make your transition much easier. I had to have monthly weigh ins. Those helped keep me on track.
  9. I'm able to drink almost normal now. 100oz is no problem for me at 25 days out
  10. I've got a six pack in there somewhere...just can't see it yet. My surgeon said that my scars were fusing to the tissue behind them, so they would stick when I used my abs. Your recovery sounds a lot like mine.
  11. The only person I've told is my wife. She is the only one that needs to know. I tell my coworkers what my diet is it they ask how I'm losing weight and they think I'm just crazy.
  12. That's great results! I'm down 23 lbs since June 1. I hit a stall about a week ago and I think I'm just getting over it.
  13. I'm on a PPI acid reducer. You should ask your surgical team for a prescription if you don't have one.
  14. Im having the same problem but its at home..It sucks, but hang in there. You'll be rewarded for your efforts soon.
  15. Less than before though, right? That's my main concern/complaint right now. Otherwise I'm feeling good. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App Mine never really bothered me much. My surgeon recommend that I massage them multiple times a day as they dimple when I flex my abs now, so that may contribute to the sensitivity.
  16. Mine still bothers me a little. I was June 1st
  17. Just take it slow and you'll be fine. Remember to measure your food instead of relying on your stomach to tell you that it is full.
  18. Are you measuring your food? My meals are no more then a half cup. I'm also only getting around 700 calories a day.
  19. What does your typical day look like?
  20. That sounds terrible. Just remember you're doing this for you, not her.
  21. I've been fine with pretty much everything, too. Even spicy foods like chili and salsa.
  22. I had french onion Soup tonight and loved it. Just skip the bread. eggs and salsa are also great
  23. In the past I might have used that as an excuse to go off my diet, but I'm committed this time. I haven't cheated at all and don't plan on it. Not this time.
