Thank you! but do I need to be less than the date I first started the diet or when I first went to the surgeon and atsrted this whole process?

I noticed on Aetna's policy topic about bariatric surgery that it says "no net weight gain". What exactly does that mean? I am going to a nutritionist and I have been twice. I gained 3 pounds. Not sure if it was water weight or what but it was 3 lbs higher than my first visit. I am concerned because the scale at the surgeon's office had a completely different reading also. Can anyone provide some clarity on this subject?

It says something about me needing to have taken a blood pressure RX that is a combination drug (3 in1) and for it not to work. I have tried for over 10 years to keep the excess weight off with no success so I am praying things work out for me.

I have thought about the approval process for my gastric sleeve about 100 times. I have really just started the process. I went to my first seminar and I am starting to do my supervised diet visits. I don't have documented sleep apnea but I am going to have them check for it. I have hypertension (lower BP # is 98 or higher). The surgeon put me on a BP RX but I don't think it's the one aetna will approve for because it's not a 3 drugs in one. I am so scared I am wasting my time because I won't get approved.... Is anyone in a similar boat that could offer some advice? Thanks in advance

So... I just went to the surgeon's office today for my first visit. I have had recorded high blood pressure for over 2 years and have been dieting with exercise with steady fluctuating weight. The surgeon put me on a rx for HB today. WIth aetna I was told I need 4 months of documented, consecutive, supervised diet. I am so nervous about getting approved. I am 5'7- 1/2 and weight 242 with a BMI of 37. My husband says I snore like a dragon but I am not sure if I have sleep apnea. I am 33 will be 34 in July...... So I guess I want to know if anyone with similar circumstances and aetna insurance was able to get approved... what did they make you go through and how long did it take..

My husband said I snore like a dragon but I am not sure if I have sleep apnea. The surgeon just put me on a High blood pressure RX today. My BMI is 37. I have been to DR a lot about my weight but I am not sure if it's been the required 4 months in a row I am nervous about getting approved... This is the part that worries me: BMI greater than 35 in conjunction with any of the following severe comorbidities: Medically refractory hypertension (blood pressure greater than 140 mm Hg systolic and/or 90 mm Hg diastolic despite concurrent use of 3 anti-hypertensive agents of different classes); or Can anyone share their experience with aetna... please and thank you
