August Sleevers-How are you doing??
Since last Sunday, I've gained. In fact, today is the only day in that time period when I've lost. I'll see tomorrow if that trend has broken or if I will continue to gain.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
I have the opposite problem, the physical sensations of hunger are gone for me. I have to be very intentional about eating so that I get the proper amount of protein in.

Getting sleeved 8/29 - so excited!
I'm still having trouble with the protein bit but that's because my surgeon's office recommended that I get in 85 g of protein a day. Also, I weighed myself and in the first time in a week, I'm down. Not much, I'm still 1,9 kg larger than I was last Sunday, but hopefully, this is the start of a positive trend.

Well, my philosophy is that I just want to do a good job with this surgery. I don't want to be a failure.

I've been doing a bit of research on this topic since I couldn't get an answer beyond "don't weigh yourself every day" from the nurse at my surgeon's practice. I think it has to do with fluid intake post-surgery.

I've been gaining for the past week and I can't understand why.

As a newbie I'm asking "What kinda site is this?"
I've already provided a link to it in this thread.

I like cold water, and I also like the taste of Fairlife or Promised Land chocolate milk. Though, it is getting too pricey which is a shame because it's also a great source of protein. Also, thank you. While I have no way to know that this may resolve my issue, you gave me something to try which is more than that nurse at my surgeon's practice was willing to give me.

My nutritionist recommended 2.2 L of water (or fluids? I really do need to check the book) per day and I think I'm getting closer and closer to achieving my fluid goals. I was able to consume 400-500 mL this morning. I guess my objective is to try to hit that 2.2 L of water. Yeah, it was five kg of crazy in a two kg bag. Those people were drama llamas, which I guess makes sense. I mean, when I was trying to get in touch with my surgeon's office today to try to figure out what the hell is going on with my gaining, I almost broke down crying over the phone when the nurse tried telling me (yet again) not to worry about it instead of giving me a solution or an idea when a solution might be necessary.

The thread is right here.

I'm not sure but I know my water intake is increasing. And as for the... lady of the month, being a transgender woman, I don't suffer her visits.

Yeah, I'm a little over two weeks out and I've been experiencing a bit of weight regain since Sunday.

I know, right? I have an opportunity to get to my goal weight and I'm not here to scréw around. I have a Withings Smart Body Analyzer and I track my dietary intake using MyFitnessPal. I know it's easy to lose sight of the big picture when weighing one's self daily but it adds data points on the bigger picture as well. Those data points, like this surgery, are tools to cracking the problem of my weight loss.

And I, for one, won't defend someone being an asşhole. That's when it becomes unacceptable.

Yeah, so far, no one has attacked me for being transgender or falsely accused me of being a man or something like that. So, it's still better than the society at large.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
I'm still up 1,7 kg since Sunday. I'm not sure why, but I just phoned my surgeon's office and do you know what the nurse there told me? To be patient, to wait until my six-week check and not to weigh every day. SCRÉW THAT. I'm proactive, darn it! She even said that during our conversation this morning. She didn't give me ANY useful advice. She didn't even tell me at which point this should be a problem.

Yeah, I can have higher quality proteins. I was in the hospital two nights... for reasons I'm not quite sure of. I got up and walked around the surgical unit several times, I had clear and solid liquids... and I got out so soon, I actually beat my friends who were coming down from the mountains. I was so glad to have the number for the friend who was house sitting for them and able to get out of the hospital that morning. I don't get a chance to move on to solid foods until the six-week point.

The remarkable thing is how different each of these programmes are. For me, they discharged me from the hospital as soon as I could handle full liquids, a couple of days later I could start the purée diet and now, I am on soft foods.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
My two-week post-op check was on Monday and Tuesday would be two weeks from my surgery.
-
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
That's the objective. When I spoke with the nurses at my surgeon's office yesterday, she told me that she would expect me to lose 10% of my starting weight by my six-week appointment. Since I've already lost half that, it could come down.
-
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
I contacted my surgeon's office yesterday and they said not to worry. If I gain again tomorrow, I will phone my surgeon's office again tomorrow. As for menstruation... I am a transgender woman, I do not menstruate.

I gained another 0.3 kg between today and yesterday. I'm monitoring my caloric intake. So far, I've consumed 645 calories today.

You may not want to journal, but you have to journal. There is so much that could go wrong after surgery and journaling helps you diagnose when it's gone wrong, as well as where it went wrong, how it went wrong and how to get back on track.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
I just phoned my surgeon's office and they told me that they expect that when I come in to see my surgeon for my six-week check on Friday the 13th, that I should lose the same amount of weight I had before, so to be down roughly 16 lbs more to make a total of 32 lbs.

August Sleevers-How are you doing??
So far, I've lost 7,1 kg since the Sunday before the surgery. If I spend the next seven days stalled and lose another 7 kg this month, I'll still consider this a win.
