  1. Ilsa, Sorry I haven't responded to you earlier. I have had a busy season at work and then with the holidays, not going onto lapband talk very much. If you get this message, you can email me at jude5353@yahoo.com or call me at 901-409-9843, and I would be glad to share my lapband experience with you. I had my surgery in Detroit on 3/7 and have lost 61 lbs. to date. I have 20 more to go and I will be at my goal of 160. Best money I ever spent. Again, I apologize for my delay in responding to your request to talk, but I haven't been online in over a month.

    Happy New Year...

    Judy

  2. I paid for my lapband surgery myself. $11,700. I have lost 40 lbs. since my surgery on 3/7. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. It gave me control over my eating which is something I have never been able to do on my own.
  3. You will be able to say that soon. Good luck. I had no problems at all. I get my second fill next Thursday and think I will do even better. It is a process. Focus on your pre-op diet. Then, focus on your recovery and doing what the doctor tells you to do post-op and watch the weight come off. Pretty fast at first, but then it will taper off and be slower. That's okay because it is supposed to. Keep us posted on your progress. Best of luck for your surgery and your recovery.
  4. I was banded on March 6th. Three weeks ago today I am down 38 lbs. No complications, no problems. It has been a dream for me. Got my first 4cc fill 6 weeks after surgery. Scheduled for another fill next Thursday. Looking forward to that. My only advice to anyone who gets the lapband surgery done is to follow your doctor's pre-op and post-op instructions to the letter.
  5. Hi Lady. I was self-pay. I had my lapband surgery on March 6th, three months ago today. So far, I have lost 38 lbs. and if I had it to do over again, I would hand that money over again in a heartbeat. Good luck to you in your lapband journey. Keep in touch if you would like. Jude
  6. I don't think I would want to be married to anyone who would make me choose between him and getting lapband in order to be healthy and live a longer, happier life.

    Hey from Knoxville TN

I agree with everything you say. I was banded on 3/7. I have lost 30 lbs. too. I paid for the procedure myself and would do it again in a heart beat. Saying hello from Memphis, Tennessee Keep up the good work.
  8. Melissa, there is no "quick fix". I had my lapband surgery on 3/7th and I know it is only a tool to help me with my weight, just like Weight Watchers, diet pills or anything else would be. You are the one who has to do the work. My only suggestion would be not to include any people in your conversation about the surgery who is not supportive of what YOU decide to do. This journey is about YOU not about what other people think of your decision to do it. Pray about it and go with what you feel is best for you. Good luck to you.
  9. I'm doing great, Titan. Just looked at your picture. I enjoy them. Keep up the good work. Jude
