anyone out there had to start over
Hi Im Jill... banded originally in April 2008.... after 1 year, frustration high, had all salene removed. I never felt like it worked correctly, but it may have been 50/50 I must admit. I am scheduled for a fill under fluroscopy on 6/9 and am trying to have a new and better attitude. Anyone else out there starting over?

What to do until fill????
I was banded on 04/04 and was told I could progress a week every five days as long as I was doing well with the progression. I'm pretty much back to a regular diet and doing fine. (but really need a fill!)

One Month Out, no restriction
I was banded 04/04 and have only lost about 6 lbs total. Lost more, but gained some back. I progressed through the recovery period quickly... liquids, pureed, soft, etc. I am pretty much back to a normal diet now and 95% of the time feel no restriction. I've also had pain on my left side, but doesn't really seem to be related to the port site. Feels more like a "stitch" in my side like when you exercise too hard, but it won't go away quickly. Sometimes sticks with me for an hour or more, and pretty painful. (about a 7 on the scale) Could this be the gas pains lots of folks are talking about? Need lots of feedback about first fills. I am not scheduled until May 19.... but I have read others getting it around 4 to 5 weeks post op, so I am thinking of calling to see if he will schedule sooner. Anyone else out there about a month out and want to share with me?

Starting the process in NC
Yikes, I wonder if that is a typical wait time. Good luck to you!

Starting the process in NC
I never thought I would even consider this surgery, but now I can't wait to get started. Im in Raleigh NC and have an appointment with Dr. Joseph Moran on the 26th of Feb. I go to the information session tonight and have already started all the paperwork for insurance. How long is a normal wait period between consult and actual surgery? Also, I am borderline on the BMI, I actually fluctuate weekly between 39 and 40 within 5 lbs. (and I do have high blood pressure) should I be concerned about this as far as being approved? Is anyone out there in the Raleigh area thinking of the surgery or post op? And do you really have to give up carbonated drinks? lol yikes:drool:
