Being the kind of person who likes large quantities of food, I knew the only way to get my weight to a healthy place was to have some sort of surgery.  I tried everything out there with no success.  Finally, I settled on Lapband.  I had my surgery in January of 2007 and was extremely pleased with it. I would recommend it to anyone who has issues with food portions, but only after thinking long and hard about it.  It IS a lifetime commitment.  Once the band is in, there's no going back.
