I am starting to wonder if I have the right doctor. I am NOT blind, but I am vision impaired. People don't take it seriously because I can see to drive with no problem, but ask me to read a menu or this 25 page book they gave me and I cannot do it. Even with a 4x magnifying glass I can barely read anything. (I do fine with electronic format with my 42 inch monitor) I told them this at the first doctor's appointment and received zero response other than a questioning look. This book is supposed to tell me everything I need to know and do in order to be able to have the surgery. I thought someone would be contacting me with more information, but it has been almost a month and no one has called. I took it upon myself to make an appoint with my MD to start the Physician supervised weight loss because I remember them saying I needed to do that. But I have no idea if I need to make an appointment with a nutrition consultant, psychology clearance, or where to go for a support group? (they were throwing info at me so quickly I could not remember it all) I have emailed their office a couple of times asking for clarification, but I am not hearing back from them. Add in the fact that it is an hour drive to get to them and I am starting to wonder. I am afraid if I try to change doctors it is going to be even longer before I can actually have the surgery. Any advice anyone can give?
