  3. I got my approval yesterday!! Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hey... I had the same exact worry! Besides being overweight, I'm 100% "healthy". I just got my approval yesterday!! My insurance bases it on either 40 + BMI OR less than 40 BMI but have to have I believe three Comorbities.
  5. Don't base your decision on what others say. It's about YOU and what you want and how you feel. I have had many people tell me they don't think I need this surgery... well it's not about them and their opinion. I don't feel embarrassed in any way, this entire process is a lot harder than people think.
  6. I'm so beyond excited !!! The scheduling department is going to call me tomorrow to set the date. She said right now they are looking mid to end of June! I'm so happy!!!
  7. Well.... I just called the Bariatric Institute to find out what I need to do. I guess my chart is moved into the "call" pile. She said it looks approved, but she is not the one that deals with insurance so she didn't want me to get to excited... but it's in the approved pile.... OMG... call me back woman! Please!!!!
  8. Thanks!! I'm still waiting.. I'm trying to keep my mind occupied but it's HARD. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  9. I ended up calling my insurance company just to ask if they needed anything else LOL. They said the nurse started reviewing all the info on Friday and once they make a decision they'll fax my surgeon office and mail me a letter.... okay... hurry up already lol
  10. I know...I have to refrain from contacting my surgeon office to ask if they've heard anything lol Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  11. My surgeons office forward all my info the insurance company on Friday and I'm so anxious for the reply. I really hope I'm approved..... This waiting is so hard!!!
  12. I agree with the above. If the surgeon left the office and didn't tell anyone... maybe you should be thankful because you might end up with a better surgeon. That is ridiculous. I had a printout, and I spoke directly to my insurance company. When I had my first consult I was happy that the office had also contacted my insurance co and had my requirements (and they matched the info I had) Don't give up... I was upset I had to wait too. But how long have you been trying to lose weight? How long have you been at a weight you weren't happy with... six more months won't be so horrible.
  13. I decided that since the bypass has been around longer, and many people go from sleeve to bypass that I would go right to it. My insurance is a one time thing, so if I had sleeve, then later wanted to have the bypass it'd be out of my pocket. I decided to just go right to the top step. 14. Thanks!!! Me too! Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  15. So, today is finally my last doctor visit of my six months of required visits. We thought last month was, but the bariatric center said they don't include my visit with the surgeon. So I called them today to make sure they have everything they need to send to the insurance company. I hope a decision is made quick so I'm not waiting forever! I did also finally decide on the Bypass vs the Sleeve.
  16. I did all my tests right away also, just to get them out of the way. I actually did all of them in two consecutive days... spent most of the day at the hospital lol.. but was worth it. Also I'm glad I saw the NUT early on because she gave a lot of good suggestions and a packet of what you'll need etc. I've referenced that more than once!
  17. I'm curious to see others responses.. because this looks good. I have been told before not to eat anything with sugars in the double digits.
  18. My doctor and nutritionist told me to use Flintstones chewable complete.. I take them twice a day Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
  19. I have BCBS. I'm kind of bummed because I just called my surgeons office and they said my insurance won't count my first appointment with my surgeon as one of my visits, it's six visits with my general doctor :/ So that adds one more month on to me, making this my 5th visit tomorrow.
