    If you can't trust the doctor's office to get back to you before the surgery, you might not be able to trust them to get back to you after the surgery, when the stakes are much higher than scheduling issues. If you have a way to contact the doctor directly, you might want to let them know that his/her office staff is close to making you shop for another surgeon.
