  1. I drink vodka and water with a squirt of sugar free flavor enhancer.
  2. I was looking at a major back surgery! I got a 2nd opinion and he said with aggressive lifestyle change I would be a whole new person. So glad I listened to him. Took me 6 months to get my bypass but wow was he right. First 20 lbs and the pain was hardly noticeable. I'm 4 lbs away from my goal weight and I'm TOTALLY pain free and doing things I never thought were possible.

  4. Thank goodness for this post! I thought I was crazy. Day 1, I was already sick of pouch, pouch, pouch. It's been Joey for the rest of the month. It makes it more fun. For instance, Joey does NOT like broccoli! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. I take 1000 mg of Keppra every 12 hours for my simple partial seizures. I haven't had a single issue post-surgery that was March 21. I was worried about seizures because not eating was one of my worst "triggers". My surgeon explained to me how the brain re-sets itself since the stomach isn't sending it hunger signals. He was right! Not one single problem (knock on wood)! I may try messing around and slowly lowering it a few months from now. Right now, only 4 weeks out, I know my body is still reeling from everything.
  6. Did you do ok with those first foods? I'm a little nervous that my first day of soft foods is my first day back at work! Maybe I'll try a little tomorrow just to be safe. I'm pretty sick of liquids at this point. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  7. I think we had our surgery the same day. I'm still I'm liquids until Monday but this is what I get for the next 2 weeks. Hope it helps! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  12. Day 4 of the liquid diet. Much easier than I expected. I've discovered that I really, really like broth now considering it actually smells and tastes like food. Plus, I'm down 7 lbs! Can't tell you how long it's been since the scale has actually moved down. 48 hours from now I will be in pre-op. Right now I'm trying to stay busy cleaning house, doing laundry and doing my best not to let my anxiety build. Somehow, the closer I'm getting to Monday the calmer I'm getting. I really wasn't expecting that. Now let's just hope it stays that way! Good luck everyone getting their Protein on this weekend

  16. 1 week from today is mine also! I go for pre-op testing tomorrow. Liquid diet starts Wednesday. I think I'm more nervous about that than the actual surgery! I just started losing sleep last night. I kept waking up thinking 1 more week, 1 more week. Hoping for a better night tonight or this could be one really long week!!!!
