  1. @@Angie74 How are you doing after your surgery? Are you on pureed foods? Any advice/insights/suggestions?
  2. It looks like we are having the surgery on same date with same surgeon!!! Awesome. My arrival time is 7:30am. One week to go. I can't believe I made it through a week of Optifast! Good luck. Maybe I'll see you in recovery. LOL
  3. @@Phillygirl_in_DE, how are you doing??? Trying to be a good surgery buddy here. Today has been a struggle. I just wanted to snack and feel hungry. I can't believe I was able to resist Chinese take-out! I'm getting nervous as surgery date gets near. I hope you and the rest of our thread (@@rachelalvogel and @sleever314) are doing well. I'm trying not to freak! LOL
  4. I am so happy to read this! I have been having serious doubts the last two days and was going to post something this morning. I am scared about regretting this, but it's more about what I think I will be missing. I have surgery on the 28th too and am on the 2-week Optifast diet as well. So far, I have lost 7.4 pounds since I started the Optifast this Monday and that blows me away. But, as the day gets closer, the more worried I am. I love having wine with meals. I enjoy cooking for my family. And, I am worried that I will miss these little things (the things that have probably made me overweight too!). I am having second thoughts about the surgery, but I assume that this is also normal too. In a way, I feel like I am grieving if that makes any sense. I keep holding on to the fact that I have lost weight already, and this is a permanent solution to get off the yo-yo dieting and gaining that I have been on for 20 years. On Monday, when I started Optifast, it occurred to me that my pants were the tightest they would ever be, and that was wonderful. I wish you the best. There is a reason we chose to go through all of the appointments, testing, counseling, and clearances. There is logic behind our decision to change our lives; this is just a fear we can work through. We deserve to feel good about ourselves again.
  5. My doctor requires two weeks of the Optifast prior to surgery. I'm enjoying the vanilla shake blends with ice and vanilla extract. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. @@Phillygirl_in_DE, how are you doing today? Day 4 of Optifast for me. I'm hanging in there but have had an annoying headache and empty stomach growl. Lost 6.8lbs though so I am happy about that. Just really tired a lot.
  7. No. I was solo. Sitting across the room from you. On my phone. Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. If it helps, my son is 16. I bought lots of chicken tenders, pizzas, stuff for sandwiches. I told both he and my husband that it would be too hard for me to cook and not cheat. I'm sure your boys would understand. The popsicles have been most helpful because of the crunch and chewing. We've got this!!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Hope this helps!!!! I have lost 4.2 lbs since Monday. And, I'm drinking lots of Water.
  10. I wish someone would have told me how I would feel on the Optifast. I loaded up on SF Jello and popsicles. That has definitely helped. The popsicles are great to chew on- I am shocked by how I already miss that. I am exhausted, feel fuzzy headed, and don't want to do anything. I am hoping it gets better though. I am mourning my Starbucks!!!! LOL I am adding ice to the shakes and that helps tremendously, and I am drinking tons of Water. I've told my husband and son that they are on their own for dinner. I'm really trying not to tempt myself. I think I can see how addicted to food I am. I feel like a security blanket is already gone. But, I wanted to do this, so this is the temporary reality. I say let's support each other through this!
  11. I have same surgery date and am on day 2 of Optifast. Yesterday was hard. So far, vanilla with extra vanilla extract and ice is my favorite shake so far. Have you tried the Soup yet? chicken is surprisingly flavorful. Lost 2.8 pounds in one day. I'm curious to see how many pounds I'll loose in the next 2 weeks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Dr. Irgau is doing the surgery. But I've been seeing Dr. Peters. How are you doing with the Optifast???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. OMG!!!! Were you there on Friday? If so, I saw you there. LOL My VSG date is Monday, the 28th! Started Optifast today and have the worst aftertaste in my mouth. Good luck! We can do this.
