Currently dealing with that! I am African and my whole family is totally against it! They have watched me become a shadow of myself over the years due to this weight and now that I have hope to gain my life back they do not want to support it. I told them I'd rather die trying than keep being this way and I am an adult and I really don't care about their opinion. As for my boyfriend who thinks I might lose my ass and boobs, told him if he does not like how I look after he can walk too. This is my life and I am taking it back. Period! I initially was getting myself ready for a sleeve but my surgeon suggested otherwise after my pre-op tests indicating more problems with acid reflux.
