  1. :thumbup:Today I had my visit for my first fill. I am now five weeks from surgery. I was very nervous and not sure what to expect from the fill. My doctor (Belott) stuck me once and started with the fill. It was not painful like I expected. No worry.
  2. NYCFun, Thanks, I was banded on 8/21 and I am doing great. I am currently packing to evacuate for Hurricane Gustav, just went through Hurricane Katriana 3 year ago. I am on mushy foods. It was well worth the 6 month wait.
  3. Hello August Allstars- I was banded on Thursday and had to stay in the hospital overnight due to my insurance. When my doctor was putting the lap band in, he noticed I had a hernia, well he fixed that while he was in there. I am in a little pain and I continue to walk to releive the gas. I am looking forward to my new life.
  4. I am very excited but nervous about tomorrow. I have been waiting for 6 months for this day to come. I am ready to start losing weight. I will post again when I am on the other side.
  5. I started my pre op liquids yesterday. The big date is Thursday, 8/21. I am excited but nervous at the same time. This forum has been a big help, I can see what other people are going through. I start my clear liquids tomorrow.
  6. Hello August All Stars, My name is Robin and I live in Louisiana. I am a administrative assistant for a mobile and modular building company. I'm married to my wonderful husband and have 2 children. My son is 9 years old and my daughter is 6 years old. I completed my 6 month pre op. diet and now have a surgery date of 8/21. I am very excited about becoming a loser and enjoying life with my family. Just the small things like being able to play with my children outside and not getting out of breath, going to the beach and feeling alright about wearing a bathing suit. As it is getting closer to by band date, I am starting to get nervous. I keep praying that I am making the right decision.
  7. I just received the ok from BCBS of MN yesterday. My surgery is scheduled for 8/21. I can't wait to become a smaller person. I had to do the 6 month supervised diet for my insurance and now I am ready.
  8. Hello to all, I finished my 6 month supervised diet last Friday and my paperwork was submitted on Tuesday to BCBS of MN. Yesterday I received a phone call from my doctor's office saying that I was approved! Yes I did it. Surgery is now scheduled for 8/21. I can't wait.
  9. Hello All- I am from LaPlace, LA and I am hoping to be banded in August. I am in my 6 month pre op stage now.
  10. Hi Jazlady, How have you been feeling since getting banded? I am patiently waiting to getting banded. I am very impressed with their office. Karen has been very helpful, everytime I called or go for a weigh in. Yes I noticed they only have one support meeting once a month. Take Care,
  11. Hello to All - I am in my 6 month diet which ends in June. I am hoping to be banded in July by Dr. Belott at West Jeff. I am ready to be banded and start losing weight. The office has been very helpful to me. I live in LaPlace. I glad I found this thread. Take care.
  12. Hi Sheba08, I also live in Louisiana and I have BCBS of Minnesota. I am currently in the 6 month program. It seems like it is going to take forever for the 6 months to pass. I started curves, met with my nutrionist, waiting on my phsy. evulation, etc. I think the 6 month wait is what BCBS requires.
  13. Thanks and Good Luck to you too.
  14. Lilo- I actually live in Louisiana. My corporate office is in MN. BCBS told my doctor's office about what they needed in order to be approved. My doctor's office requires 6 month pre op so BCBS will approve with no problems. They are very familiar with BCBS. I just started in January. I have joined Curves for exercise, met with my general pract., met with my surgeron, met with a dietician, and waiting on psyc. appt. I have monthly weigh ins at my doctors office. They told me today that the more information they have documented in the six month period, BCBS approves with no problems. Also my doctor's office required that I get a copy of my medical records from my general pract. showing my weight from the last 5 years. So you might have to do a 6 month program instead of 3. I know 6 months seems like a long time. Good Luck
  15. Hi Lilo, I also have BCBS of MN. I am currently in the 6 months pre op. program. I talked with them several times along with my doctors office and they sound positive as long as you meet the criteria. I am curious to see if they will give you any problems.
