I'm out....
Well all, it's been fun. I'm sitting here realizing that my notifications keep going off on topics I personally have started, replied to, or have followed. And don't get me wrong- I've enjoyed "most" of them. But, I'm finding that I personally am spending way too much time reading, posting, or replying to things, instead of getting things done here- in real life- which is kinda ridiculous. I'll pop in from time to time to see "what's up", and there are several of you on the FB group I started and am still active in. I wish you all the BEST success and a healthy journey! You've got this! Just follow your plan, make good choices, and enjoy your new life and lease on it. Hugs to all, Lisa PS - @@LipstickLady can direct you to the FB group, if needed. LOL. I lost 102 lbs in the first 4 months. But just for the record, I did it being 99.99% compliant with my doctors instructions (ok, so I did have a couple of potatoes chips once or twice). I wouldn't consider it a "prisoner of war" diet. But your comment did make me laugh.I have lost almost 100 pounds during my six-month pre-op diet. I haven't even had the surgery yet. It is Wednesday. I have certainly not been on any "prisoner of war" diet, but I have been incredibly focused on my journey, re-establishing my relationship with food, and improving my health. I, too, read of these insane posts where people can't even work to improve their situation for a few hours, let alone long term. But it is what it is, so I never comment. This surgery next week is a tool that will help me continue my journey, but it isn't the whole journey. I am DAMN proud of what I have accomplished, and I just because the loss has been swift doesn't mean that it is unhealthy. You are a man, you lost 100 lbs it in 6 months, that is only 16 pounds a month, or barely over 4% a month (which is a normal amount to lose, people lose that on dietbet) , you started at almost 400 lbs, super morbidly obese. That isn't the same as a middle aged 5'2 female going from 250 to 150 in 4 or 5 months post-op after not eating anything at all but Water and crystal light for weeks. So my comments stand, they don't apply to you, and you didn't even bother applying any kind of critical thinking to what I said before jumping in to defend yourself when it didn't even apply to you. If you really even comprehended what I said in the first place you would have never commented. Atleast @ could use that Big 10 Education (Go Illini) to know it isn't about him. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Illini are you??? We shall keep the Big 10 rolling--- me- NU Husband- MSU Oldest son -Iowa So, go B10! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

We get it all- periods, bloating, pregnancy, menopause. The only thing we have over men? When they wake up ugly they are stuck at ugly. We have the luxury of makeup. Oh wait. That sucks too- costs money and always needs to be replaced. Forget that one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

WLS with Fibromyalgia and Arthritis of Unknown Origin
I should add to the above post that the rest of my body was all aches and pains before my dx, as well, but since my life was literally my hands, I just chalked it up to turning 40.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

WLS with Fibromyalgia and Arthritis of Unknown Origin
Living my life sister. I practiced dentistry for almost 20 years before I got diagnosed. Likely, the year or so prior to the RA hitting full force, I was brewing. My hands were constantly aching, not a true pain like I would come to know. Before procedures, I would have my assistant massage my hands. (She was also a nail tech and was really good at it and didn't mind!) The last patient I saw, I was about to give him an anesthetic injection. As I was inserting the needle, my hand LITERALLY contorted, and I ended up sticking the needle into his lip. Ummmm. NOT a good thing to do. Being a good clinician, I reminded him to not move when I'm giving him a shot, said we needed to reschedule, and made an appointment with my hand surgeon for the next day. I'd had hand surgery about 10 years prior to remove a cyst. He was the one who sent me to the rheumy, blood work, and had a dx within 2 weeks. RF, CRP, sed rate all through the roof. Haven't been in the dental operatory as a practitioner since I feel READY to go back to work, but fear keeps me from it. Even though I've been symptom free since surgery, I can't help but wonder how long it will last? Will I be with a patient when it decides to rear its ugly head again? Too many what ifs at this point for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When your surgeon moved you to real foods, he/she absolutely meant all the gooey, cheesy, fatty, greasy, creamy, rich, carb laden crap you could handle. Have at it! Absolutely! WLS with Fibromyalgia and Arthritis of Unknown Origin
Oh. Consider being on-even low dose- pred the reason you're not getting those last few off. It's the best worst drug on the market. Period. If you were taking the methotrexate in pill form, I'd suggest going to the shots. They work much better. Another option would be Plaquenil. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
