  1. So, I'm curious what you all lost on the preop liquid diet (I'm doing 10 days starting next week) and in the first 2 weeks post op. Partially pure curiosity and partially because I'm supposed to get fitted for new uniforms at work tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should just tell them to make a size smaller than I am now. I wont be into the new ones until after I come back from surgery. Surgery should be 9th (tentative), returning to work the 26th.
  2. I start my real pre op diet next week. The reason it varies from person to person mainly depends on BMI. People who aren't as overweight don't need it as long. My doc suggested a 1200 calorie diet from day 1 at his office 3 months ago and is having me do 10 day full liquid. My BMI is 46 I believe. Bigger people have bigger livers that have to shrink for surgery and that is done by liquid diet.
  3. I got the berry flavored ones and thought they were pretty good....better than isopure and cheaper
  4. I was just wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant since having the sleeve? If so did you have a normal pregnancy? I really think I may want a 2nd child but worry about lack of calories while pregnant and breastfeeding. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hello. I have not yet had my surgery but I was reading this just to see what people are saying that are a month or two into it. I wanted to add that the weight loss is going to be more percentage based. Most of you don't have listed your starting weights but I see a lot of BMIs that aren't really too high so that's probably why you aren't losing as much as fast. If you are 220 you are going to lose slower than someone who is 350. If you are following doctors advice, I'm sure you will all do well.
  6. Hi I posted this in another section but just found this and looks more appropriate here. Has anyone had experience with Amerigroup? I know they used to have a 3 year waiting period (nuts) but it is now 6 months. I started my time last month and am wondering if I am wasting my time. Amerigroup is Medicaid and I'm pretty sure I will lose it the next year so want to do this asap.
  7. I'm wondering if anyone has gotten approval from Amerigroup? I know they just recently changed their pre op diet time from 3 years to 6 months and am wondering if getting surgery is a realistic idea with them.
  8. I am one month in to my six month required time and am down 13lbs so far. I've always been able to drop 30 or 40lbs in about a month or two no problem. Problem is I only make it about a month or two before I go crazy and quit, then gaining back 10 more than I lost over the next few months. I think anyone can lose some weight if they are determined, the problem is keeping it off. I think they want you to lose some weight to show that you are serious and not just looking for a quick easy fix because if that's it, it wont work anyway. My mother got bypass surgery, dropped about 120 and then gained it all back because she wasn't taking it seriously, continued to eat bad food and didn't excersize.
