  1. I have had my lap band for 7 years. First several years, I had no problems at all. In the last 4 years I have had reflux to the point that I had to have my band loosened. I actually had pneumonia from aspirating it. Once it was loosened, I had no more problem up until the last 6 months. The band is still correctly in place ( had a CT scan this month), but I am still experiencing acid reflux at times. I have cut out all caffeinated tea and only drink 1 cup in the morning. So, I'm at a loss for 'WHY".
