This sounds extremely shady. I'm curious if you made the check out to the doctor or the hospital. Because of the hernia repairs the OR and anesthesia were already being paid for. It's bizarre that someone came up with $9000 so quickly. And what surgeon knows that they're booked for a year out when they delayed you all day? I'm sorry but I think there is some moral and ethical issue here. I suggest you also call the hospital and ask to speak to the compliance officer. Please keep us updated and if you don't get anywhere there are still more things you can do.

I am 11 days out from surgery and today had very bad reactions after eating yogurt and after having a pudding made with skim milk. I'm totally bummed since I don't want to be lactose intolerant. What are the chances of this passing?

I had my lap band removed Dec 29th and was sleeved that day. Doing great recovery wise but struggling with the full liquid diet. I don't advance until next Friday (17 days post op). I'm tired of yogurt, pudding and Jello.

I just had my sleeve on 12/29. Did anyone else have issues with black liquidy poop the first few days after surgery?

I am 2 days post op and have had black soft stool when I go. Did anyone else have this? I have a call out to my surgeon but I am just wondering.

No. I am not symptomatic. In the past year I recall discomfort once and that was after drinking several mimosas that were mostly orange juice on one day during the summer. I am seeing my doctor on Monday and am scheduled for lap band revision to sleeve on Tuesday December 29. I'm praying for no surprises. I reached out to my surgeon after seeing my results and now she wants to see me.

Thank you. I don't have any symptoms, which frustrates me. I really wanted to have the sleeve. I have an appt with my surgeon Monday and I'm mentally preparing myself that she's going to want to do bypass instead. My BMI is 35.2 now. I'm really afraid of the absorption issues and complications. I'm tempted to not have the revision and just get the band removed.

My preop UGI shows moderate to severe reflux. Has anyone with reflux still had the sleeve or did you have to have bypass?

Oh that's good to know. I am going to send her a message through the patient portal Monday. I don't want bypass. I'm having my lap band removed and want that out no matter what, but I'd hate if she didn't want to do the sleeve.

I am scheduled to have gastric sleeve surgery in 3 weeks. My UGI yesterday showed moderate to severe reflux. I'm afraid my surgeon is not going to want to do my surgery. Has anyone encountered this?
