  1. Thank you for the idea! I will look into this:)
  2. Thank you! I see my surgeon next week, but wanted to see what others have experienced.

  4. Hello, I am just about 5 weeks out. For the last week I have found that my back aches a lot more than it did. The front left side of my stomach area feels like I have done 1000 crunches. I just want to know if others have felt this. Maybe my back is over compensating for the stomach muscles??? Thanks:)
  5. Hi betterhealthahead:). I actually started the process 3 years ago, but I wasn't planning on surgery. My doctor thought it would be good to do the classes and get more info. I did all of that by the summer of 2013. Then I used the info I learned and went to the monthly support groups. In the summer of 2015 I decided I wanted surgery, so started that process and met with my surgeon in October and then had surgery in January. For me it went quick once I made the decision, but I know others have waited or are waiting a lot longer. I think it was the timing that worked out for me because they had a new surgeon starting.

  7. Thank you for starting this post acuri08. This is a very hard journey-- at least it has been for me as well. I am 4weeks post op and the hardest part of all of this has been the mental struggle for sure. I feel like I did a lot of work on myself and eating habits before surgery, but I struggle each day -- either emotionally because despite the friends and family that are supportive I really feel alone in all of this because they don't truly understand what I am going through, physically because I feel so uncomfortable or can't get in enough protein, water or vitamins. But I am really trying to focus on the fact that I had surgery to help me change my life and things will get better:)
