  1. I had sleeve surgery 14 months ago and have lost 100 lbs. I'm in the spot where I am interested in converting to another surgery. Has anyone done this? I'm not seeking for medical advice. Just curious to know if anyone has had sleeve surgery and then converted over to bypass or the DS. If so, have you had success? Would you suggest going that route or staying away? Just curious as to everyone's thoughts.
  2. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery in January of 2016. Since the pre-surgery diet, I have lost around 115 lbs. Long story short, a few months ago- I got sick every time I ate. Didn't matter if it was yogurt, chicken, beef, etc. Within 30-60 mins of eating, I was in the bathroom with severe diarrhea, vomited once, had a pain in my upper stomach when eating ,etc. My surgeon did a CT with contrast and found that I had a blood clot in my stomach as well as pancreatitis. I went on a pretty low key "diet" of just Soups, yogurt, liquids just to calm things down. He also gave me some Carafate to take before eating. After a few days, the problem resolved. Long story short- the same symptoms have come up again, only this time I have blood in my stool and quite a bit of it. I called and they had me go to the local ER last week for a CT with contrast again to make sure I didn't have a leak. CT looked good, blood work, and urine tests came back fine. Once again I was given Carafate and sent home. Here I am on about day 10 of the symptoms and nothing has changed. Still getting sick when I eat, always on the verge of vomiting, blood in my stool, diarrhea, pain in my stomach when I eat, etc. Any one else have these same symptoms before? If so- what has helped? I don't want to be a pain to my doctor, but I'm really worried about the blood. I have lost 4 lbs this past week. Mostly due to the fact that I can't eat anything. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Pancreatitis?

No- my gal bladder and appendix are out. When they took my gal bladder out in 2009- they took out 35 gal stones along with it.
  4. Can you experience dumping syndrome after sleeve surgery? I had surgery roughly 6 weeks ago (Jan 11).... Within an hour to an hour and a half of eating, I get a pain in my stomach and have to race to the bathroom and immediately follow with severe diarrhea. Afterwards, I feel hungry again. I know this isn't normal, but am afraid to call my surgeon as I don't want to be the patient that is always calling and is paranoid. (I've had blood clots after surgery, etc.) Has anyone else experienced this? If so- what helped?
  5. I had gastric sleeve surgery 2 weeks ago, and am finally starting to feel decent again. However, I am a bit concerned about some pain I am experiencing in my left wrist/arm. The area is warm to the touch, and hurts to touch. When I put my arm out and push my hand to the left, I have a nagging and sharp pain that runs along the muscle on the inside bone of the wrist/arm. It doesn't seem to get better, and hurts really badly when I touch it. Has anyone else had this problem post-op? Is it something I should be worried about and get checked out? Thanks.
  6. I called the doctor yesterday. Long story short- I had a CT last week and found a blood clot in my stomach. Well add another one to the list. I now have a blood clot in my wrist! He has put me on Xarelto for 4 weeks and wants to see me again next week. Lovely!
  7. I wasn't feeling well.... Severe body and joint aches at night that would wake me up one with a bit of a temp. I called the doctor and they had me go to the hospital and have a CT scan with the iodine that they run through the IV. They didn't find a leak, but rather I have a blood clot in my stomach. You may want to call your doctor in the am and get on top of it. If your insurance didn't cover the surgery, they can bill your surgery for just abdominal pain and leave it at that. Good luck!
  8. Thanks for the input! I am going to call my doctor in the morning and get to the bottom of it.
