  1. I was honestly going too and i know many have but u can get full take in more Protein the reason you need ro go in stages is to avoid a leak or hurting your new belly...its still very swollen delicate and healing...just like a baby u would not jump from stage 1 to solids would you?? Also your new belly is more sensitive and you may have develop food intolerances which is another reason we all do stages.. If ur doing fine thats good but i would strongly suggest you talk to your nutritionist and not cheat your way to next phase. Also good u realize what temps work for u that was so trial and error for me...unlike u hots work better for me...but that goes to show you how your new tummy is so different.
  2. Well not that my input will help much but i have pcos...another reason i did this....but before all this growing up my periods were painful ( i was a toothpick my whole life until i had my last set of kids - twins)...so early on i started birth control that would stop my periods...i did Norplant... When that was out i did depo...when that was done i did mirena and still have the mirena...works for 5yrs at a time and is the safest out there as far as inserts go...so i have had mine for 15 yrs...love this damn thing! Helps with pcos too!
  3. Lucky you but absolutely right listen to your body.
  4. Lol! I put everything in my skin right now..lol If its one thing i noticed is my skin is so dry now...im trying to drink as much as i can but damn..i mean i drink as much Water now as i did before but my skin!!
  5. Hun i think thats a loss cause...i have seen tons of videos of people who have the excess skin...my surgeon said the odds are against you the older you are...and depending how big you are...i know some ins pays to have it removed...so check...im 37 so she says i still have a good chance that it will snap back but hey i have stretch mark cream handy and soon will take collegen pills u name it..causw i have the same fear!! My friend had a doc from the Dominican who has an office in Florida im gonna go see if it gets real bad...lil tuck here...lift there lol.
  6. I had mine done at mount auburn weight management.. Julie kim was my surgeon. I have mixed reviews...im 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I was sleeved on 3/21/16...but im doing well.. You can follow me here... http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/359417-starting-my-journey-boston-ma/page-11#entry4122406
  7. Hello everyone i would like to get to know more people in the area...i would like to plan a gathering... Anyone interested???
  8. How long did it take u to get there? Over what amount of time? Looking good!
  9. I cant help u there..cause i has a hiatal hernia so i have a lot more restrictions then most. I would focus on cardio... Cause cause u can have all the mucles in the world but wont see it cause of belly fat... Thats what my personal trainer told me.
  10. I was told that energy comes bacj very slowly but stronger each time...when i went in a week ago we all had the samw issue woke up full of energy then wipped out very quickly....im getting better but wish it was faster lol...marathon not a sprint
  11. Its very common that your extremities get very cold..we were told it may take up to 10months for your body to regulate...i was always hot now always cold esp my finger tips... Im adjusting... Guess ill be comfy this summer...
  12. Patsgiril1 try what i suggested for protein... Fast way to get it in and meet ur protein goal in just two drinks!
  13. Oh wow im on pureed foods...we have 5 stages.. Stage 1 NPO 24hrs before surgery Stage 2 Clear Liquids after surgery Stage 3 full liquid, with cottage cheese, yogurt,(2weeks) Stage 4 is pureed food high Protein, no sugar, caffeine, or carbs (4-6weeks) Stage 5 full food Im on stage 4
  14. Yeah the isopure is 40gm a bottle!! So i drink half of one a day and my Protein shake boom met my goal...i must have tried every flavor of isopure and found the tea one...its the only one that dont have the nasty aftertaste to me and half a bottle is doable for me...takes me about 45 to drink half...so if u like at it that way very attainable goal.... My nutritionist said the 51+ gm of protein this early is too much for our bodies to handle...and i agree! Make sure u take a stool softener or something... If u start taking in a lot of protein!
  15. It was for me too but i learned hot liquids went down better so worked around it that way...try different temps..my nutritionist told me 40-50gm of protein at this stage is plenty i avg 40-45 right now on a good day i can do over 50...i drink my protein shake in the morning as soon as i wake up...thats 24-26 right there with 4oz of water... And drink black tea isopure or another shake later in the day...its the easiest for me...and when i eat..i will make some chicken or tuna and nurse it until im done....
  16. Well i dont know if house cleaning counts but i deep cleaned my kitchen and im wore out!
  17. I have a sensitive jaw and those chewable ones omg they are hard!!! Bariatric advantage will send u samples and bariatric choice does too. .thats what i did i called the companies for samples to try before i spent any $$ and for the ones that didnt my nutritionist had samples....as for the waffer style i cant remember but i think u have to take 4 a day and they are about the size of a quarter!!! Why take 4 when one is enough.
  18. I take the one with out iron cause i have hemochromatosis so dont need additional so they have both options! And my calcium i got at cvs bogo last me forever lol
  19. I did the bariatric vitamins cause i did not want to mess around with soo many pills all day...so i take 1 multivitamin and and 2 calcium a day and it contains everything i need!! In the long run its cheaper and when ur new belly cant take much to begin why mess around with seveal more...i bought mine on amazon
