  1. Hi everybody, my surgery is the 29th also. I'm following this thread closely to get a feel for what everybody's been going thru. It's been really helpful already! I also don't have and pre-op diet - except for the day before my surgery is Clear Liquids and then mag. citrate in the afternoon (not looking forward to THAT part!).
  2. I've got my date too, Feb. 29th. I think that means my first surgiversary won't be until 2020?
  3. I have no pre op diet, no liver cleanse either. Just no food the day prior to surgery and drink a bottle of mag. citrate the prior afternoon (& probably poop all night!). My surgeon says the liver cleanse thing is kinda dubious in that it's not going to clean out your liver much, and losing weight is the whole purpose of having the surgery anyway. BTW: my BMI is 52.5.
  4. I was recently approved, did the 6 mo. supervised diet thing and only lost 3 pounds, but I have changed a lot of things about my eating habits overall. My surgeon said that the literature now indicates that losing weight before surgery does not affect the outcome after surgery, so his office does not require weight loss. Now, some insurance plans do, but mine did not. Dr. just told me not to gain any weight, and I haven't.
