  1. Yes Daisy, I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed last year and was told that I would need to a hysterectomy. However I got a second opinion and I was able to be treated with hormonal therapy which I am very grateful because I have no kids and me and the hubby always planned to have our own. Now I've been through IVF and we have 9 embryos in the freezer waiting for me to get healthy enough to carry. They say that weight is also a contributing factor for Uterine cancer thus I know I have to move forward with this procedure for many different reasons. Kudos to you for surviving Uterine cancer because I know it's not easy. ????
  2. Have anyone heard of the surgeon ordering Physical therapy after surgery for strength training? I guess this way you would not have to pay for a personal trainer, your insurance would pay for it.
  3. Hi there, I am scheduled for surgery on 1/12. This is my fifth day on the pre-op diet and everyday for me is getting easier. I struggled for the first couple of days but now the hunger has subsided. My only problem is those darn commercials triggering my mind to want some real food. I have been drinking the Premier protein shakes and they don't taste bad at all. Maybe you should try it.
  4. No, I have not but best wishes to you.
  5. Wow, I wish I would have known this before.
  6. Hi there, as you know I am scheduled for the 12th and I have decided to take it one step at a time. Right now I'm in the pre-op stage and I'm just making sure that this goes well. My doctor told me post-operatively my focus will be to get my fluids in and staying hydrated. I was told that I would receive more info on the next phase at my post-op appt 1/21. If I hear of any websites with great recipes I will let you know.
  7. Congratulations to you on your wt loss! Thanks for the encouraging words. If you have any tips for the newbies please let us know. God bless!
  8. I agree I love Sonic ice and their water doesn't taste too bad either, lol!
  9. I find that I'm not hungry.. I have to force myself to eat. It's very odd. I can't wait for next week to have more choices.. 2 weeks of unjury is ???? That is good for you, that your not hungry. My head has been hurting for 2 days since I'm eating so little. I'm just so nervous / scared that I'm not making the right decision. Tweety, I think it's normal to second guess yourself prior to surgery because you are making such a life changing decision. I know I did as well. Sometimes I still feel like I want to back out of it and that maybe there is some other way. However I know it's not true. I also worked very hard to get to this point and I do not want to start all back over again (referring to getting the auth from my insurance company, psych eval, nutritional classes etc). Hang in there we can do this! ????
  10. This is my plan as well. I'm getting very excited about the surgery!
  11. I have been shopping around trying to find the right Protein shake and so far I must say I think I like the Premier shakes as it seems to be the one with the most protein which is 30 grams.
  12. I'm actually doing well on my prep diet and I am looking forward to my surgery next week. ????
  13. Congrats to you as well! Yes let's keep in touch. ????
  14. Hi, I am getting sleeved on the 12th. This is my 3rd day of the preop diet. I guess I'm doing ok but I think I miss my food already, lol.
  15. My date is Jan 12th!
  16. I know what you mean. I am getting nervous as well. I keep thinking am I sure I'm making the right decision.
  17. How exciting! So I'm guessing you had to do 2wks preop diet. I've notice most people had to do 2wks preop diet. I'm not sure why my doctor only ordered me to do 1wk. Well I wish you the best of luck! ????
  18. I am scheduled for the gastric sleeve next Tues. Jan 12th. I am getting a little nervous. Today I went grocery shopping to get food for my pre-op diet and this was the first time that I really had to read the food labels and pay close attention to my calorie, carb and protein intake. This is definitely going to be life changing but I believe I am ready to make the change. I'm glad I found this forum to be able to express my feelings.
