  1. Don't forget you also have control with your insurance company. Call them. Establish a relationship regarding your surgery etc., they are the ones who approve it. You are the one paying them. Don't leave it completely in the hands of your surgeons staff even though they are awesome.
  2. Thank you 2goldengirl. Very encouraging. ????
  3. My husband has accompanied me thus far... But there has been so much outside stressors... I haven't gone to the recommended sessions yet but I will. Probably next week. I guess I just want to see the results of the endoscopy. I want the sleeve, but I'm scared they're going to see signs of acid reflux, which means I'll have to have the rue n y
  4. I'm on my iPhone. And I'm alone. My husband is so scared for me. But I would rather die than be so obese.
  5. I have a lot of really hurtful small minded people in my life through marriage. We couldn't have kids both at fault. Yet they blamed me. I had endometriosis. He had 2 headed sperm. Never smoked pot in his life yet the doc said he did. Had a total hysterectomy 7 years ago. Packed on 70 lbs. I just want to forget all the family crap mine and his and do this for me. I just want to be thin. My mother said I never would be because of my fathers German heritage. Omg I just want to get rid of all that influenced crap. Had nothing to do with me really. Just whatever my mother said was me.
  6. This site confuses me. I tried to reply then it sends me elsewhere. I'm just so scared and alone now. But I know this decision is mine alone. For me. That's it
  7. Omg... I'm in the middle of getting ready for surgery... My endoscopy is this Friday... Why do I feel from the above comments that it seems catty?? I just want to get a tool to help me with my voracious appetite. That's what I'm hoping surgery will do for me.
  8. Good job Knox!! Keep us updated!!
  9. Awesome!! ????????????
  10. Are you still in hospital?
  11. My surgeon said he's doing an endoscopy first, I had endometriosis stage 4, total hysterectomy via laparotomy, and 2 laparoscopies... He said he's doing it just to take a peek inside first... I have NO idea what the result will be, as the endoscopy won't be til late Jan 2016. Did you have an exploratory endoscopy?
  12. Momcat, I am pre surgery... 44 and post menopausal... Are you saying the surgery isn't worth it? I've read so many success stories... Pretty sure one about a 65 yr old man, but you're right... Any older, post menopausal post surgery women out there???
  13. Great to hear!!! And I'm so impressed that you're keeping us updated day after!!! Dang!! It really means a lot to me that you're sharing your experiences with us... And I'll be watching for your updates as you heal up perfectly! ????
  14. Do you think it's the "plateau" I've been reading about? It's normal to stall for a bit... They say... I can't say for sure because I'm only a month in the pre op.
  15. Did your doc supplement or recommend B12 for energy loss and fatigue? I'm thinking of starting that now. They make it in liquid form...??
  16. I'm in Nashville too, Vandy, just starting month 2 of ins required 3 mo dr supervised weight loss program. Going with Dr Williams. Very confident in the whole team and their life-long care program. It means a lot to me that they just don't take the money and run. I've researched and googled seriously for the past year. In the patients with a less than desirable outcome, it seems like they didn't have a support group/groups, or thorough post surgery care and follow ups. Hopefully I'll be taking the plunge in February or March... Find myself attending quite a few "food funerals"... But I'm learning to count protein!! Started taking a great organic liquid vitamin and mineral supplement. Please let us know how your surgery went!! ❤️
