  1. Day 1 post op wasn't as easy as day of. Have been quesy and thrown up a little water twice. Throwing up freaking hurts. Got no sleep last night, but took a 3 hour nap when I got discharged this afternoon. Hoping the nap will help.
  2. I also had surgery this afternoon. I was a ball of nerves, but surgery went well. Was in serious pain the first hour post op but since then it really hasn't been bad at all. I've been able to drink about 10oz of water and a small bottle of Isopure which has shocked me. Getting my bladder to relax was a project, but I was determined as I did NOT want a catheter. Now if only I could get some freaking sleep in this place. First day of my "new" life!!!!
  3. Tomorrow at 12:30 for me. I wish I wasn't nervous. My stomach is in knots right now.
  4. Mine is tomorrow! It really hit me when I was leaving work today, there may have been a few nervous tears shed on the drive home...
  5. my doctor just requires 2 weeks of low carb. 1/2 cup of fruit for Breakfast, 4oz of meat and veggies for lunch and dinner. And I have to drink 2 Impact drinks a day. As mentioned above, each doctor and program is different.
  6. Good luck ladies!!!! You will all rock this! 24 hours left for me..
  7. Sending positive thoughts your way today! The first day of the rest of your life :-)
  8. I'm with you! I'm excited by soooo nervous! I made a word cloud today and taped it to my bathroom mirror as a daily reminder of why I'm doing this.
  9. Had my pre-op physical yesterday and everything is good to go! Had the pre surgery class today at Methodist West. Was surprised when the nurse said Dr. Cronk doesn't always do a swallow test with the sleeve. Did you do a swallow test? Said I'll be eating ice chips and drinking water as soon as I'm awake, which also surprised me, as I was expecting to have to wait a while based on everything I've read on here.
  10. Positive thoughts and prayers for you!!
  11. I have mine tomorrow and I'm not sure what to expect either. Just in case I'm having my husband join me.
  12. I'm so excited to find this thread !!!!! Made my day I too am in Omaha and will be having the sleeve done by Dr. Cronk next Wednesday. I had originally went to Dr Whites seminar at Immanuel and met with his office once and decided it just wasn't the right fit for me. So far I'm highly impressed with Dr Cronk and his office. How is everyone doing post op?
  13. My doctor doesn't require a liquid pre op diet. Starting Wednesday Ill be on 1 week of low carb and have to drink a box of Impact a day. I have my pre op physical this Wednesday, a 1 hour surgery class on Thursday (not sure what to expect at this). And then my pre op with my surgeon on Monday. Busy week leading up to it!!
  14. I too have generalized anxiety disorder and its been a daily battle with my nerves. My surgery is next Wednesday. I'm trying to focus on the now and not let all of my worries / fears (rational and irrational) control me. But... as you know that is easier said than done! That is so fantastic that you were able to make a connection with someone who will be with you the whole time!
  15. I'm 7/27, but close enough! My EKG came back as "borderline" so I will be having a second one later on this week. Not sure what this means, but hoping its nothing... Doctor didn't seem too concerned so trying not to focus on it! Seems like I'm one of the few that doesn't have a liquid diet pre-op. Starting this Wednesday I will be on a week of low/no carbs. and drinking a box of Impact Recovery drink a day. I need to keep reminding myself that while this is major surgery, the complication rate is VERY low. I have anxiety and my mind is playing tricks on me. Scared I'm going to die under anesthesia....
  16. You didn't go to the doctor at all in 2014 or even 2013? I had to show a 5 year weight history. I just called my prior doctor and had them fax over the vitals from one of my visits and it happened to be 6 years prior, not 5 and it worked fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Me to but I struggled. I did not take enough extras to work. Tomorrow will have broth and propel on standby. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App My surgery is the 27th and I just completed the second day of preop diet too. I lost 3 pounds the first day from being in the bathroom all day. I had my preop appt today and Doctor said to wait a couple more days and it should get better. Im just hoping it isn't all the lactose. I also have a pretty constant headache going, probably from being dehydrated from being in the bathroom so much. The doctor and nurse both said it starts to get easier on day 3-4. I'm the 27th too! Nerves are at an all time high. Just trying to keep my eye on the prize
  18. I've been on 100 to 150mg of Zoloft for a few year now. Give it time. It makes a world of difference with my anxiety.
  19. Sending positive thoughts your way! You've got this!!
  20. I got my approval letter in the mail about 8 days after it was submitted. I called my doctors office right away, they said its typical for the patient to receive it a day or 2 before.
  21. Thinking of you all today!!!
  22. I'm taking 8 days off. My surgery is on a Wednesday and I'm taking the following week off as well. I have a desk job, so I don't need to worry about weight restrictions or anything. This will also completely wipe out my PTO bank, so hoping all goes according to plan. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
