  1. Thanks @@needtorecover !
  2. Hi. I've had 3 or 4 fills and I believe I am at 5 or 6 cc now. Since my fill last month I have had some scary experiences. I felt a searing pain in my esophagus and the need to throw up but couldn't. I have always had problems throwing up. I even tried to stick my fingers down my throat and that didn't help. I'm pretty sure each event was triggered by eating too big of a bite and/or too fast. Is this normal?

  4. Has my first fill post surgery last Monday. The doctor put in 3ml and then took out .5 because I was having problems swallowing water. I haven't been able to eat much at all and I am not able to even think about solid food in the morning. I am scheduled for another fill at the end of the month but I don't think I need it. Is this normal?
  5. I was banded on November 20th and including the 2 week liquid diet pre-surgery I have lost 30 of the 100 pounds I need to lose.
  6. Hello, I had surgery 11/20 and today I had my first meal that wasn't liquid or puréed. I wasn't able to eat very much, less than a cup before I felt I was full. Now, two hours later I am hungry again. Is this normal?
  7. I had a hernia repaired during my surgery last month. I was in pain for the first three days and then I really didn't need the pain meds anymore during the day- only at night to sleep. Walking helps. It also didn't help that I went to the dentist 4 days after surgery and all that up and down in the chair was painful after...
  8. @ go walking. Wow same practice. Have you found the Wednesday support group helpful? I've never been
  9. I go to NYU also. I was banded on November 20th by dr. Shwack. Who did you use go walking ?
  10. Thanks for the response. I don't drink alcohol anymore I've been sober for three years. That's why taking away the food (my last crutch/ addiction) has been so hard. I think I'm just having buyers remorse about the surgery because there are so many negative posts and experiences shared here ????.
  11. Hi this is a really personal thing but i need some support so I am reaching out. I was banded on 11/20 and I am starting to realize the extent to which i self medicated with food. I suffer from anxiety and depression and about 5 days after surgery I started having panic attacks and terrible depression. I am working with a psychiatrist on medication but I was wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience after surgery?
  12. Thanks for replying. The pain has subsided ????
  13. Thanks Meggs ! My doctor was nice enough to email me back and tell me pretty much the same thing
  14. Hi everyone. I was banded on Friday and I was just wondering how long people took pain meds for because I'm almost out and I was wondering if there is some liquid over the counter stuff I could try? My doctor isn't there because it's thanksgiving. Also I am starting to get hungry but I'm still on "full liquids" what are some ideas other than Protein shakes? Thanks
  15. Thanks at go walking i feel like my brain and my body are shutting down. I can't function at work I thought this was going to get easier as the time went on but it's getting harder ????
  16. Hi everyone. I am on day 8 of my pre op diet. I swear this gets harder everyday and I am really frustrated because the doctor told me I could lose like 20 lbs in two weeks. I am eating nothing but baby carrots and having 4 muscle milk 100s a day which I know is probably not enough calories (400-600) but why does the scale go up and down? Seeing the numbers go down was the only thing getting me through this horrible diet. Anyone else experience this?
  17. I am having my band put in November 20th. I'm on day 7 of my pre op liquid diet and although I've gotten over the hunger and desire to chew I find it very hard to concentrate at work. Anyone else have this problem?
