  1. Congratulations on your success. I was just banded on May 12, I have lost a total of 21lbs since May 5 which is when I started my pre-op liquid diet. Looking forward to my two week appointment on May 27 to be okayed to start mushy foods.
  2. I was banded monday, May 12 by Dr. Alan Geiss in Syosset, Long Island, Surgery was alot easier than I thought It would be. I went in at 11:05 am and was wide awake at 12:15pm with very little pain. I was on clear full liquids, Tues and Weds and today I can start full liquids. I am experiencing only soreness no real pain. However, I cannot tell if my stomach is growling or digesting what I am swallowing. How can you tell if you are truly hungry or if it is just a new feeling that I am experiencing.
  3. I started in October 2007, I had my surgery consultation October and then had found out that my insurance required the 6 months of supervised dieting by a pcp. So I ran to the doctor on October 31, So it counted as the first month. Anyway in the meantime I did my nutritionist, psychologist, pulmonologist, cardiologist, bloodwork, upper GI series in November and December. I just finished on March 4 my 6 months diet program. I received a call from the anesthesiologist to contact my cardiologist to make an appointment, which I did and saw him today. Because on the original clearance he had written that he wanted to see me in three months. I am currently awaiting for my folder to be reviewed so I can receive a surgery date.
  4. my insurance also made me do six months of doctor supervised dieting. That was back in October, I am happy to say that my last appointment is March 6. However in those six months I went about with all my other testing. It can take a while to get appointments at some of the specialists. Before you know those six months are over. Hang in there its really not that far off.
  5. Finished my testing, however I have two months of doctor supervised dieting left as required by my insurance company. Even then I would probably have surgery first week in May.
  6. hi everyone, I am still in the process of testing. My insurance requests six months of doctor supervised dieting. On my 5 month, hooray, everything else is done. I am planning on the first week in May. I am using Dr. Alan Geiss in Syosset, Long Island, Anyone use Dr. Geiss?
