  1. When your forced to drink water for 2-3 weeks and slowly build yourself up you learn to be more aware of what your putting into your body. In other words sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to realize what you have or can lose.
  2. I'm 2 years and 9 months post sleeve. My journey has been amazing and still continues to be. Pre-surgery 315 lbs. YTD 163 lbs. I work out 3-4 days a week. Start with a warm up on the thread-mill and weight train. My diet is extremely low carbs. Eggs whites and mixed, squash, spinach, and other vegetables, chicken, fish, lean steaks, occasionally pasta with shrimp. 2 protein shakes per day on work out days. 1 per day on none. My goal now is to inspire others and share proof that with hard work and dedication ANYTHING can be accomplished.
  3. Surgery day 298lbs Presently 200lbs
  4. Thank you Serenity. [emoji3]
  5. Quick update. I'm 10 months out and I still can't believe how I feel, how I changed the way I eat, and the way I look at food. Occasionally I do have a sweet desert or an alcoholic beverage but I keep my carb intake to a minimum, and when I do have carbs it's before I go to the gym so I can utilize what I just took in. Just keep in mind that surgery is just a "Tool" use it correctly and it'll work. Good luck to everyone on their journey.
  6. Thank you so much. I try keeping the carb intake to a minimum. I aim for a minimum 30-40 grams of protein per day. Sometimes more on weight lifting days. I work nights and daytime dad so I try to workout 2 days on 1 day off. At times it's hard to squeeze everything in but I do my best. I had my surgery through Tri-State Bariatrics at Good Samaritan.
  7. Thank you. So true. :-)
  8. Next goal has been met. Weighted in this morning at 182.3 I look at these pictures in disbelief.
  9. I was chatting with an old time friend and he asked how much weight I've lost. I went from 298 surgery day to 195 at the moment. He complimented me and at the same time says "I'm a little jealous but I want to do it the hard way by going to the gym" Really? I replied this wasn't easy! Many people think it is but that's their own ignorance speaking. Surgery is a tool, if you don't use it correctly it won't work.

  11. Thank you everyone for your comments and support. I happen to be an honest person and don't like to hide things especially from friends. But it's weird that I get praised from friends I've acquired over the last 10 years and a person I know for over 25 yrs and I'm the godfather to his daughter would make a comment like that. But I agree, his comment had nothing to do with me and was more to make himself feel better. Unfortunately a person can live in the gym but if you don't eat right you'll play the up and down weight game for the rest of your life. Much love.

  14. I was getting nauseous with the regular Multivitamins so my doctor suggested PatchMD. Coupon code Holidays2015 gets you 40% off. Don't know when it expires. I ordered a 12 month supply. FYI The Vitamins expire in 2018.

    MultiVitamin Plus

Update: Just got my blood work back and the only thing that was a little low was Vitamin D. It was also low prior to surgery. Dr says I need more sun. Cholesterol 204 and LDL 143, everything else was great. So the Vitamin patch works great.
  17. I feel great! At times I still need to remind myself to slooow down while eating. Otherwise I get reminded the other way.
  18. Thank you. I feel great too.
  19. 5 months and 2 days 200lbs. Surgery date 298lbs.

    Husband not supportive

Sorry to hear about your unsupportive husband. It sounds like he is insecure about himself and wants company. I thank God everyday for giving me a spouse/partner that supports decision I make, especially about my health. As mentioned try to find some counseling to help him understand what you are going through. Sometimes guys are idiots and only think of their own feelings. Good Luck and don't give up!!

Thanks for sharing sbg. The only way to know if they are working is as you stated "lab results". I'll go for blood work at 6mo and check.
