  1. Thanks for the help. I will try and make the next meeting. looks like it will be on April Fool's day. Go figure! ;o)
  2. No, I haven't but would like to go at least a couple of times to see what it is like. It used to be in the Sunday paper but since I was approved for the surgery it has not been published. If you find out the night and time please let me know. They used to hold them on either a Monday or Tuesday night and I teach a class on both of those nights but thought I would have someone cover for me for a couple of weeks to at least meet some of the people in the group and introduce myself. Please let me know...
  3. Whomever is kind enough to respond to this plea for assistance please do so publically as I am having the same problem. Apparently hair color has little to do with being blonde! :confused2:
  4. Welcome fellow Western Nebraskaner. I was banded on 1/29/08 so am just getting started myself. I am down 27 lbs and just had my first fill on Monday. So far so good. Glad to be on solid food again. Dr. Forney was my surgeon and I see Dr. Holloway in Ogallala for fills. I go to Ogallala since I live in North Platte. Welcome to the forum and hope to hear more from you on how things are going. I also follow a Yahoo.com forum called smartbandsters and it is a really active forum. I have learned a lot on there. I need to spend more time with this forum and see if there are areas that are more active than this one. Again, welcome. Jeff
  5. Mrs. Husker, Thanks for the advise, it came in handy. I was thinking of your post the day of surgery and got up moving sooner than I think anyone expected. I am five days from surgery, the pain is mostly gone, the diet is working great and I have lost 18 lbs already! I am looking forward to getting to a point where I can exercise too and see how that works! Thanks again for you words of wisdom.
  6. Mrs. Husker: Thanks for replying. I was wondering about a couple of things on your posts. If I am reading your signature block right your (h)ighest weight was 235, your (s)tart weight (day of surgery I am assuming) was 223, your ©urrent weight is 180 and your (g)oal weight is 135. Am I reading that correctly? If I am what does the line "Down 43lbs from surgery, 55lbs from Jan 07, only 45 to Goal" mean? For me those numbers would be Highest - 359, Start - well know in 11 days, Current - 356 and Goal - 180. Only 176 to go! Although I am not having much luck at this time I am trying to lose weight before the surgery. I haven't been told to but it doesn't make any sense not to lose weight or to put on more poundage that I am just going to have to take off later and for me I either put it on or take it off, no riding the fence! Jeff
  7. I live in North Platte and was glad to find a support forum that was used by folks close to home. I am scheduled for the lap-band surgery on January 29th and will be having it in Scottsbluff. I know that this is what I want by I have been pushing so hard to get it through the insurance that now that it is a reality and happening in just three weeks I am panicing a bit. I have enjoyed reading your entries and feel a bit better about the choice. I think I will be checking in here from time to time to see how you all are doing and share some of my experience. Glad your out there. :ranger: JB
